Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 15:
Michael Wilson, WR, Arizona Cardinals
Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Michael Wilson caught 11 of his 16 targets for 142 yards and two touchdowns during Sunday's Week 14 loss against the Los Angeles Rams. He has consistently capitalized on every opportunity to produce with Marvin Harrison Jr. (heel) sidelined. In three games without Harrison on the field, Wilson is averaging 12 receptions, 148.3 yards, and 0.7 touchdowns.
Over the last four weeks, he ranks as the second-highest-scoring wide receiver in fantasy football. As long as Harrison is sidelined, Wilson should be deployed as a strong WR1 option in fantasy football. Even when Harrison returns, Wilson is still a high-end WR3/flex with WR2 upside. Arizona faces off against a strong Houston Texans secondary in Week 14.
Christian Watson, WR, Green Bay Packers
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson caught all four of his targets for 89 yards and two touchdowns during Sunday's Week 14 win over the Chicago Bears. Even with Jayden Reed returning to the lineup, Watson continued to operate as the Packers' top receiver. He now has five touchdowns over the last four weeks, and he has at least four catches in each of those four games.
The 26-year-old continues to perform quite well in this crowded receiver room, largely thanks to Jordan Love's strong passing season. He has quietly ranked as the eighth-highest-scoring receiver in half-PPR leagues since making his season debut in Week 8. Watson ranks as a strong WR2 option heading into Week 15 against the Denver Broncos.
Chuba Hubbard, RB, Carolina Panthers
Carolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard opened the season as his team's RB1. However, he missed time due to injury in early October, and his role was usurped by Panthers back Rico Dowdle, who exploded with a pair of 200-plus scrimmage-yard outings. Across a four-game stretch from Week 9 to Week 12, Hubbard failed to record more than seven touches in a contest. However, in Carolina's final game before its Week 14 bye, Hubbard broke out for 124 scrimmage yards and a touchdown on 19 touches against the Los Angeles Rams.
Hubbard was still out-touched by Dowdle (20 touches), but he out-snapped Dowdle for the first time since Week 8. If Carolina plans to work with a more even split between their two backs coming out of the bye, Hubbard could re-emerge as a flex option for fantasy managers. In leagues where he may have been dropped, Hubbard is a must-add player heading into his Week 15 matchup against the New Orleans Saints.
Jerry Jeudy, WR, Cleveland Browns
Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy has proven he can have massive games in the past, and the first-round pick had one of his best games of the season in Week 14 against the Titans. He only had three catches but racked up 76 yards and a long touchdown from Shedeur Sanders, who looked like a solid QB for the rest of the year. Sanders throws the deep ball well, and if he connects more often with Jeudy, the receiver could be a nice add for the fantasy football playoffs.
Jeudy has shown a very high ceiling, and he may now have a QB who can connect with him to make big plays. His season-long numbers are still not very impressive, but he and Sanders are trending up coming into their matchup this week with the Bears, who have allowed the third-most fantasy points to wide receivers this season.
Ryan Flournoy, WR, Dallas Cowboys
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Ryan Flournoy popped off in Week 14 with nine catches for 115 yards and one touchdown. The production mostly came in a game script that forced the Cowboys to throw a lot, combined with CeeDee Lamb (concussion), who left the game in the first half and did not return. Flournoy showed flashes of production when Lamb was injured earlier in the season and has 249 receiving yards and three touchdowns on the season.
If Lamb is set to miss Week 15, Flournoy would be right back on the fantasy radar and would be viewed as a WR3/flex potential against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday Night Football. The Vikings defense has been stout against wide receivers, allowing the second fewest points to the position. In deeper leagues that have multiple flex spots or three wide receivers, Flournoy could be a good option if Lamb does, in fact, miss Week 15.
