Ryan Braun To Play Left Field And First Base
7 years agoMilwaukee Brewers manager Craig Counsell said that outfielder Ryan Braun will only play left field and first base this year, and outfielder Christian Yelich will primarily play left field during the season but will see some time in right field this spring. In Milwaukee's crowded outfield, Domingo Santana appears to be the odd man out for now, but he could be traded before the season, too. Braun is an injury risk for fantasy owners, and he played in just 104 games in 2017 while posting a career-low 823 OPS. He's 34 years old now and isn't a lock to bounce back to his better days, especially since the Brewers will have the opportunity to rest him often. Braun can still also provide double-digit stolen bases, but he's no longer an early-round outfield selection.
