Egor Demin "Limited" With Plantar-Fascia Tear
Egor Demin (foot) has been "a little bit limited" with a plantar-fascia tear since after Summer League, according to general manager Sean Marks. Marks said that Demin "hasn't potentially had the summer that he would have loved." Marks and Demin said that the No. 8 overall pick in last year's NBA Draft is expected to be ready to go at the start of the season, and Demin said it's "not a big deal." Demin said the injury was not from a one-time event but was more a product of workload over time. Before missing some time at the end of summer league, the 19-year-old averaged 11.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, and a steal in three games while hitting 43.5% of his threes on 23 attempts. He will need to continue to build up physically before the start of the season, and he could be the Nets' starting point guard soon if he can overcome this foot issue.
