William Byron was one of the steadiest drivers through Sunday's Mobil 1 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, as he was extremely consistent in terms of running position through the entire race. Byron started the race in fifth position and ran inside the top five through the entire first stage. In fact, Byron climbed up to third place, but just did not have the speed to get past Joey Logano and Ryan Blaney to compete for the stage win, and scored stage points as a result of ending the stage in third. The second stage went much like the first for Byron, as he continued to run inside the top five through the stage and was chasing down the Penske drivers. At the end of the stage, however, it was Logano and his teammate Kyle Larson beating Byron out for the stage win as Byron earned more stage points while settling for third. In the final stage, Byron executed on his pit stops and kept up with the best cars in the top five. Although he almost got past Blaney during the final restart, he did not have the speed to keep up with him and dropped back to third after Josh Berry passed him in the middle of the final run. Byron finished in third place at New Hampshire, scoring his first career top-5 finish at the site and in the 2025 playoffs. The No. 24 Chevrolet driver now sits 47 points above the playoff cut line heading into Kansas with two races left in the Round of 12.--Sean Engel - RotoBaller
