Brake Brakedown Diminishes Tyler Reddick's Playoff Hopes
Tyler Reddick has struggled with top-line speed in recent months, and Sunday's Loudon race was no exception, as Reddick backslid to ninth at the end of Stage 1 and then began to lose his brakes in Stage 2. Although he finished the race on the lead lap, he gradually faded to 21st, placing him 23 points below the playoff cut line in 11th, only barely above his 23XI Racing teammate Bubba Wallace by four points. Perhaps the team's charter dispute is affecting their on-track performance. Traditionally, Reddick would be expected to run well at the Charlotte roval and especially Kansas (where he has won before), but he has also struggled for speed at places he's shown bursts of dominance in the past this year, so it seems like the odds of him advancing to the Round of 8 are growing increasingly remote.
