Team Penske's Ryan Blaney won the Mobil 1 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Sunday in the NASCAR Cup Series. Blaney had the fastest car of all drivers throughout the race, especially on longer green flag runs, as he was dominant at several points of the race. In the first stage, Blaney started second, but started off slow as he dropped all the way back to the sixth position. As the stage progressed, he picked off all drivers ahead of him one by one and by the end of the stage, passed his teammate, Joey Logano, to win the stage and plenty of playoff points. Blaney led the earlier portion of the second stage until pit stops shuffled him further back in the field. Despite making some positions back up, Blaney settled for fourth at the end of the second stage behind Logano and Hendrick Motorsports drivers Kyle Larson and William Byron. In the final stage, Blaney passed both of the Hendrick drivers and set his sights on Logano. It took until midway through the stage, but Blaney did get past Logano before going through his final green flag pit stop of the day. Although a late-race caution bunched the field together for a late restart, Blaney ran away with the lead and never looked back, despite a late charge from Josh Berry. The No. 12 Ford driver won at New Hampshire for the first time in his Cup career and automatically advanced to the Round of 8 of the playoffs with his third victory of the season.--Sean Engel - RotoBaller
