Utah Mammoth forward Jack McBain (undisclosed) is considered day-to-day, Cole Bagley of KSL Sports reports. McBain was presumably injured during Sunday's 3-2 preseason defeat against the Colorado Avalanche. He logged 9:59 of ice time in the game, finishing with one shot on goal and two blocks. McBain was seventh in the league last season with 291 hits and chipped in with a career-high 13 goals in 82 appearances. His work on the offensive end also included 14 assists. There's no reason to think his status for opening night is in doubt, and McBain might return to action as soon as Thursday when Utah plays the Vegas Golden Knights.--Taavi Pailk
