Trevor Megill Unlikely to Return Until Playoffs
Trevor Megill (elbow) is running out of time to return from the 15-day injured list in the regular season. Megill, out since Aug. 25 with a flexor strain, got through a bullpen session on Saturday. Manager Pat Murphy said afterward that a best-case scenario will include another bullpen on Tuesday, live batting practice on Friday, and an appearance in the Brewers' regular-season finale against the Cincinnati Reds on Sept. 28. Even if Megill does return for that game, the Brewers will spend the majority of the week continuing to rely on Abner Uribe, Aaron Ashby, and Jared Koenig to close out games. Before landing on the IL, Megill converted 30 of 36 saves and pitched to a 2.54 ERA with a 1.15 WHIP, 58 strikeouts, and 17 walks in 46 innings.
