Is Davante Adams out for the season? When is Davante Adams coming back? The latest Davante Adams injury update and fantasy football outlook heading into Week 18 of 2025.
Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Davante Adams (hamstring) missed Week 16 due to a hamstring He's now 33 years old. These types of injuries can be quite serious for older players.
While most fantasy football leagues will conclude their championships in Week 17, some extend into Week 18, and DFS fantasy managers have the option of playing cash games every week, even into the playoffs.
The Rams are headed for the postseason, but out of contention for the division championship, as the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers will battle for the division title next week. So will Adams get shut down for the rest of the regular season? Let's dive in.

Is Davante Adams Out for the 2025 Season?
The Rams already alluded to ending Adams' 2025 regular season, and with no ability to win their division, their Week 18 game is less meaningful. They'll be able to get either the No. 5 or No. 6 seed in the playoffs, depending how the Week 18 games go.
The risk of re-injury for older players with hamstring issues is high. It's high even for younger players, as it's one of the most persistent and annoying injuries a player can get. It wouldn't make a lot of sense to start Adams in Week 18, and given the team's hints at shutting him down, it's probably safe to assume he won't play.

Adams is still an elite receiver, but unfortunately, he's listed as doubtful for the game tonight. He probably won't play. It seems that projections expect him to come back in Week 18 -- if he returns, it could just be so he's not too rusty for the playoffs.
Adams won't be out for the entire NFL season, most likely. Los Angeles will need him for the playoffs. But it's likely that they at least cap his reps in Week 18, since the game isn't extremely impactful for their postseason seeding.
Davante Adams 2025 Fantasy Football Outlook
We probably won't get a startable Adams back until the playoffs, and that only matters for DFS games. If he does play in Week 18, he's a risky start. He could have mostly a decoy game or rely on a touchdown to be fantasy relevant.
The Rams have other serviceable pass-catchers, like their tight end group of Terrance Ferguson, Davis Allen, and Colby Parkinson, and one of the best receivers in the NFL in Puka Nacua. They'll face the lowly Arizona Cardinals, who have lost every one of their games with their current starting QB, Jacoby Brissett.

L.A. probably just doesn't need Adams to be utilized heavily to beat Arizona. Of course, any team wants to win any given game and beat their divisional rival. But the chance of winning a ring is too much to risk re-injuring a key player.
In the playoffs, a defense that could bottle up Nacua might have a hard time doing so with Adams, and vice versa. The former Jet, Raider, and Packer is simply too valuable to the team's game plan to be missing against some of the NFL's best teams in playoff form.

Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford and Adams, both nearing the ends of their careers, connected for touchdowns 14 times in 14 games in the regular season. Last season, the Rams narrowly lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in the divisional round, 22-28. If they'd had Adams, the game could have easily gone the other way.
Therefore, I don't anticipate Adams playing his usual full-time role in Week 18, and wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't play at all. But in the playoffs, he should return to form.
