Should I start or sit DJ Moore, Luther Burden III, Kyle Monangai for Week 14? Fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks and recommendations for the 2025 NFL season.
The Chicago Bears will be without wide receiver Rome Odunze (foot) for some period of time. He had a huge start to the season, catching five touchdowns in his first four games before the team's bye, and was one of the top receivers in fantasy football.
Reporting stated, though, that he's been dealing with a stress fracture in his foot for several weeks now. His big drop-off in production could be at least partly due to that. And those are difficult injuries to heal from, so it's definitely possible he could miss at least three more weeks of action.
That means Bears wide receivers DJ Moore and Luther Burden III should get more action. Additionally, running back Kyle Monangai had a huge game in Week 13, so it's possible he could have more work moving forward as well. So should you start Moore, Burden, and Monangai for fantasy football in Week 14? Let's dive in.

Should I Start DJ Moore for Fantasy Football?
It's probably not a bad idea. The Bears are a low passing volume offense, unfortunately, and with so much talent to spread the ball around to, it's been difficult for any of their pass-catchers to be consistently productive all season. And none of them have been, save for Odunze early in the year.
Moore has been seemingly phased out of the offense at times. It makes sense, as the team chose tight end Colston Loveland in the first round and Burden in the second. It was always a risky move to draft Moore at his ADP, and he hasn't paid off. But he could be able to actually become consistently startable.

Bears head coach Ben Johnson made several allusions to his lack of effort in the offseason, and he's struggled with consistency. He's the WR37 on the season. In his last eight contests, he has just two games with 20 or more PPR fantasy points, one goose egg, and just three of eight games with double-digit points.
Targets have been an issue, of course. He averages just over 5.2 targets per game in that stretch. That doesn't tend to lead to good fantasy production. It seems likely that Odunze's targets will be spread around among the team's starting pass-catchers, meaning Moore's volume could increase, at least slightly, to around six or seven targets per game.

He's startable as a flex now, according to my analysis, though, he has a very riskily low floor that you should be wary of.
Should I Start Luther Burden III for Fantasy Football?
Burden has had a bit of a strange season. He was seen as a raw prospect coming out of college, and fell in the draft, likely because of concerns about his route-running ability. But the film has shown that he's improved in that aspect of his game markedly.
And there were never questions about his athleticism. He's a fantastic athlete, with near running back levels of ability to fight through tackles, and elite ability to play with physicality and elusiveness with the ball in his hands, and quite a bit of power.
This route by Luther Burden wow. Sells vertical. Quick in and out of the break great reactive catch.

So it's been strange to see his usage not really ramp up. The Bears have stubbornly kept slot WR Olamide Zaccheaus in a prominent role while Burden hardly handles more than five targets in a game -- he has just one contest with more than five targets.
This is despite leading all Bears WRs in yards per route run, yards per target, yards after catch per target, missed tackles per reception, and passer rating when targeted. He's the most efficient pass-catcher in Chicago by a pretty wide margin. That typically means you should start targeting that player more.

It's hard to question the tactics of an elite offensive mind like Bears head coach Ben Johnson. But with Odunze out, Burden will likely get a lot more playing time. And that will lead to more volume. He's a nice flex start for his potential ceiling, but also has a risky floor due to low target volume.
Should I Start Kyle Monangai for Fantasy Football?
The boring answer is that he's a low-floor flex. The Bears will face the Packers, and though Monangai isn't the starter, Chicago's offensive line is one of the best in the NFL. Monangai will probably be TD-dependent. The demolition of the Philadelphia Eagles on the ground in Week 13 isn't likely to be replicated.

Chicago's offensive line has done such a good job that lead back D'Andre Swift's lack of ability to play through contact hasn't mattered much. He's been productive because they get him into space so much. Monangai is a risky start, because in the games the Bears don't dominate on the ground, he's less productive.
But they have a run-heavy offense and he's the bigger and more powerful of the two RBs, so he gets a good amount of goal-line work. That makes him worth starting in 12-team leagues.
