Zach Thompson

1302 articles

Zach has been covering fantasy sports across multiple platforms and websites since 2008, and he's been playing fantasy sports since the late 90s, when he totaled the fantasy scores from the box scores in the newspaper. He has covered a variety of sports from a fantasy perspective, including the main ones like baseball, basketball, golf, football, and hockey, while also jumping into some more exotic options like Australian Rules Football and rugby. Basically, any sport that has a fantasy format--he'll play it! Even though he grew up almost 8,000 miles away in Guam, he was raised a diehard Boston sports fan. After playing soccer competitively throughout high school and college, Zach now lives in central Massachusetts with his wife and four children. He attends as many games in as many sports as possible and has found a passion for watching minor league baseball and tracking player development. Zach specializes in finding bargain plays from obscure spots, and nothing is sweeter than when a low ownership bargain option carries your fantasy team to the win!

Riley Patterson Is a Shaky Start in the Cold

Miami Dolphins kicker Riley Patterson has filled in well for Jason Sanders (hip) this season, as Sanders' IR stint has extended through the first 13 weeks of the season. Patterson has made 21 of his 23 field goal attempts overall this season and 24 of his 25 extra point attempts. He converted all four of […]

Dolphins D/ST a Top-Five Option Against the Jets

The Miami Dolphins defense has been helping to carry the team during their current three-game winning streak. They've held the Bills, Commanders, and Saints under 20 points in their three wins with eight sacks and seven takeaways in those matchups. This week, they'll face the Jets, who have been one of the top 10 matchups […]

Darren Waller Is A Solid Streaming Option Against the Jets

Miami Dolphins tight end Darren Waller is a viable streaming option if you're desperate for a tight end solution this week, as he and the Dolphins visit the Jets. Waller played 47% of snaps last week in his return from the IR and hauled in two of his three targets for a team-leading 47 receiving […]

Malik Washington Continues to Get Plenty of Chances

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Malik Washington is getting plenty of catches in his role as the team's second receiver, but he isn't turning those catches into big numbers, making him a high-risk play against the Jets. He has multiple catches in 10 straight games dating back to Week 3, and he has at least three […]

Jaylen Waddle a High-End WR2 Against the Jets

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle has trailed off a little bit in the last two games, with only three catches each against the Commanders and the Saints. The Dolphins' passing game has been very low-volume in the last few games as they rely heavily on De'Von Achane and the defense to win three straight. […]

Ollie Gordon II Playing Very Limited Role

Miami Dolphins running back Ollie Gordon II has been relegated to a minimal role recently, as the team gives more work to De'Von Achane. Gordon has gotten three carries or fewer in three of his last four games, and he only got 10 yards on his three carries against the Saints last week. He played […]

De'Von Achane Is An Elite RB to Build Around

Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane has been one of the top running backs in the NFL over the last few weeks, and he's a great play this week against the Jets. Achane has at least 120 rushing yards to power the Dolphins to three straight wins in his last three games against the Bills, […]

Tua Tagovailoa Is Hard To Trust Even Against the Jets

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa continues to post lackluster numbers while continuing to dink and dunk. Last week, he completed 12-of-23 passes for 157 yards and an interception in his team's win over the Saints. While the team has won three straight games, he has thrown for under 200 yards in each contest with two […]

Michael Wilson - Fantasy Football Rankings, Waiver Wire Pickups, NFL DFS Picks

Michael Wilson, Jayden Higgins, Jakobi Meyers: Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Picks for Fantasy Football Week 14

Wide receiver is a volatile position from week to week, and throughout the season, players' values can vary widely. In Week 14, with four teams on a bye week, several fringe options who have emerged recently have made a case for being included in starting lineups in what is the final week of the regular […]

Devin Neal - Fantasy Football Rankings, Waiver Wire Rankings

Devin Neal, Kareem Hunt, Woody Marks: Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Picks for Fantasy Football Week 14

Week 14 is the last week of bye weeks in the NFL regular season, so your fantasy football team will once again be stretched to cover the absence of the four teams for the last time this season. If the bye weeks, injuries, or ineffectiveness have stretched your team thin, you might have some tough […]

Jaylen Brown Ruled Out Thursday Against the Wizards

Boston Celtics guard/forward Jaylen Brown (illness) will not play on Thursday, as expected, after the team downgraded him from doubtful to out on Thursday before they visit Washington. Brown will have a chance to return Friday at home against the Lakers for the second half of the back-to-back, but in his absence, the Celtics will […]

Quentin Grimes Is Ready to Return on Thursday

Philadelphia 76ers guard Quentin Grimes (calf) is ready to return to action on Thursday after missing Tuesday's game with a calf injury. He was upgraded from questionable to available on Thursday before game time. The 25-year-old started three of his previous five games, playing big minutes in each contest and averaging 38.2 minutes per game […]

Paul George Will Not Play Against the Warriors

Philadelphia 76ers guard/forward Paul George (knee) was downgraded from questionable to out on Thursday, ahead of his team's home game against the Warriors. George has been limited to only six games this season and has only averaged 22.2 minutes per contest. He only played 18 minutes in Tuesday's win over the Washington Wizards and is […]

Joel Embiid Upgraded to Questionable for Thursday

Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid (knees) was upgraded from doubtful to questionable on Thursday before his team hosts the Warriors. Embiid is recovering from injuries to both his knees and has played just three games since Nov. 1. He last played on Sunday against the Hawks, logging 30 minutes in the double-overtime contest and finishing […]

Michael Porter Jr. Will Not Play Thursday

Brooklyn Nets forward Michael Porter Jr. (injury management) will not play on Thursday when the Nets host the Jazz to finish their back-to-back set of games. Porter played big minutes on Monday and Wednesday and had big games to help Brooklyn defeat the Hornets and Bulls. He finished Wednesday with 33 points, 10 boards, and […]

Noa Essengue Out for the Season

Chicago Bulls forward Noa Essengue (shoulder) will miss the rest of the season after undergoing shoulder surgery. The No. 12 overall pick in the NBA Draft has only appeared in two games for the Bulls this season, playing only six minutes and going 0-for-3 in his very limited NBA action. In four games with the […]

Giannis Antetokounmpo Expected To Miss 2-4 Weeks

Milwaukee Bucks forward/center Giannis Antetokounmpo (calf) is expected to miss approximately two to four weeks with a calf strain suffered on Wednesday night against the Pistons, according to reports from ESPN's Shams Charania. He only played three minutes before leaving the game, and his absence leaves lots of work for the rest of the roster […]

Joe Burrow Bouncing Back With the Bengals

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was back in action after a 10-week absence, but he looked as strong as ever while throwing for 261 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Bengals to a Thanksgiving night win over the Ravens. Burrow looked sharp for the most part and moved around well, while delivering the ball […]

C.J. Stroud Seeking to Continue Texans' Stampede

Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud returned from his concussion last week against the Colts and led his team to a fourth straight win. After starting 0-3, Stroud's Texans are 7-5 and pushing for a playoff spot. In his return, he completed 22 of 35 passes for 276 yards, no touchdowns, and one interception. In his […]

Alec Pierce Is Earning More Looks in Indianapolis

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce has become a vital contributor to the Colts' offense over the last few weeks. While the Colts have lost three of their last four games, they've been in tough, hard-fought matchups against the Texans, Chiefs, Steelers, and Falcons. In those four competitive games, Pierce has totaled 27 targets and […]

Brandon Aubrey Remains an Elite Option Thursday in Detroit

Dallas Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey continues to be one of the best fantasy kickers on the board this week, when the Cowboys roll into Detroit to take on the Lions. He converted all three of his field goal attempts last week and both of his extra points as well. He has made 22-of-24 field goals […]

Jake Ferguson Is a Strong TE1 Against Detroit in Week 14

Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson has been a key contributor to his team's passing game all season, and he'll remain a strong starting option in all formats on Thursday Night Football, as the Cowboys roll into the Motor City. Ferguson has maintained consistent volume in the passing game eve with George Pickens and CeeDee […]

KaVontae Turpin Remains a Deep-League Flier on Thursday Night

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver KaVontae Turpin (shoulder) has been able to put in full practices this week after being banged up and battling illness in the last few weeks, so he should be ready for his usual workload this Thursday against the Lions. Turpin typically plays about 25% of snaps for the Cowboys and gets […]

Khris Middleton Will Not Play Tuesday

Washington Wizards forward Khris Middleton (injury management) will not play Tuesday on the second night of the team's back-to-back when they visit the Sixers in Philadelphia. Middleton has played 15 minutes with the Wizards, averaging 10.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 0.7 steals per game. Without Middleton, Cam Whitmore and Justin Champagnie should both […]

Kyshawn George Is Questionable Against the 76ers

Washington Wizards guard Kyshawn George (toe) played 31 minutes on Monday night but is listed as questionable with a left big toe contusion for the second game of the team's back-to-back. George had nine points, five assists, and three rebounds in the Wizards' win in Milwaukee, and the team has a rare chance for consecutive […]

Trey Murphy III Will Return Tuesday Night

New Orleans Pelicans forward Trey Murphy III (elbow) will be back in action on Tuesday against the Timberwolves after missing the last two games. Murphy is averaging 19.7 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.7 steals per game in 19 contests. He has had a high usage rate this year, especially in games when Zion […]

Yves Missi Uncertain to Play Tuesday Against the Timberwolves

New Orleans Pelicans center Yves Missi (foot, ankle) was listed as questionable by the Pelicans for their Tuesday night matchup against the visiting Timberwolves. Missi started on Sunday against the Lakers, but he had come off the bench in his previous six games. In his last seven games, he's averaging 6.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.3 […]

Zion Williamson Questionable Against Minnesota

New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson (adductor) was downgraded to questionable on Tuesday afternoon, before his team hosts the Timberwolves. Williamson has been limited to 10 games this season, averaging 22.1 points, […]
