Zach Thompson

1302 articles

Zach has been covering fantasy sports across multiple platforms and websites since 2008, and he's been playing fantasy sports since the late 90s, when he totaled the fantasy scores from the box scores in the newspaper. He has covered a variety of sports from a fantasy perspective, including the main ones like baseball, basketball, golf, football, and hockey, while also jumping into some more exotic options like Australian Rules Football and rugby. Basically, any sport that has a fantasy format--he'll play it! Even though he grew up almost 8,000 miles away in Guam, he was raised a diehard Boston sports fan. After playing soccer competitively throughout high school and college, Zach now lives in central Massachusetts with his wife and four children. He attends as many games in as many sports as possible and has found a passion for watching minor league baseball and tracking player development. Zach specializes in finding bargain plays from obscure spots, and nothing is sweeter than when a low ownership bargain option carries your fantasy team to the win!

Quentin Grimes Downgraded to Questionable on Tuesday

Philadelphia 76ers guard Quentin Grimes (calf) was downgraded from probable to questionable for Tuesday's matchup against the Wizards. He had started three straight games but returned to the bench on Sunday in the Sixers' double-overtime loss. He played a massive 47 minutes in that game and turned in a nice double-double with 28 points, 10 […]

Tre Tucker Still Working as Top Receiver for the Raiders

Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Tre Tucker only had three catches for 20 yards in Week 13 against the Chargers, but he still served as the team's No. 1 wide receiver, playing 96% of snaps. No other receiver played more than 56% of snaps, and Tucker's three targets were behind only RB Ashton Jeanty's and […]

Chimere Dike a Boom-or-Bust Waiver-Wire Option

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Chimere Dike has shown lots of big-play potential this season on both special teams and as a receiver. The fourth-round pick has a pair of punt return touchdowns and a pair of receiving scores this season and has hauled in 12 of his 17 targets for a total of 361 yards. […]

Isaac TeSlaa a Top Streaming Option in Week 14

Detroit Lions wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa caught both of his two targets for 35 yards and one touchdown in the Lions' Thanksgiving Day loss to the Packers. The third-round rookie could be lined up for even more work in the next few weeks since both Amon-Ra St. Brown (ankle) and Kalif Raymond (ankle) are battling […]

Is Andrei Iosivas Still Worth Adding?

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Andrei Iosivas has gotten extra playing time the last two weeks with Ja'Marr Chase (suspension) and Tee Higgins (concussion) missing time. Iosivas had four catches for 61 yards against the Patriots without Chase, but he only managed one catch for 29 yards against the Ravens. He still had a solid fantasy […]

Devin Singletary Motors to the End Zone Monday; More Work Ahead?

New York Giants running back Devin Singletary had 12 carries for 68 yards and a touchdown against the Patriots on Monday Night Football and added three catches for 34 more yards. He played 28 snaps (51%) compared to 27 for Tyrone Tracy Jr. (49%), who took some big hits and was ultimately carted to the […]

Luther Burden III Is a Strong Addition in a Growing Role

Chicago Bears wide receiver Luther Burden III has at least three catches in four straight games and has at least five targets in each of his last three. He led the team with four catches in their Black Friday win over the Eagles on a windy day in Philadelphia. While his yardage totals have been […]

NBA DFS: Top Daily Fantasy Expert Picks for DraftKings, FanDuel (12/1/25)

The NBA tips off December with nine games on this Monday night slate. After a busy weekend following an off-day on Thanksgiving Day, the NBA schedule has five teams finishing a back-to-back on Monday, while only the Wizards have to turn around and play again on Tuesday. FanDuel included all 18 teams in their main […]

Dalton Schultz Can Be an Emergency Option in Week 13

Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz has been very busy this season and emerged as a PPR contributor in his team's passing attack. Last week against the Bills, he only had one catch, snapping a streak of 10 straight games with multiple receptions to start the season. He had at least six catches in three […]

Christian Kirk Is Not a Strong Option Against Indianapolis

Houston Texans wide receiver Christian Kirk has started to carve out a role for himself after being sidelined twice earlier in the season with hamstring issues. Kirk snagged his first touchdown of the season in Week 12's big win over Buffalo, and he snagged five of his six targets for 54 yards, his second-best total […]

Jayden Higgins Continues Emerging as a Strong Second Receiver for Houston

Houston Texans wide receiver Jayden Higgins hauled in four catches on his team-leading nine targets in Week 12 against the Bills. The rookie racked up 38 yards and scored his fourth touchdown of the year, while playing the second-most snaps of any receiver for the third straight week. He has at least four catches in […]

Nico Collins a Fringe WR1 Starting QB Back in Week 13

Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins had a very quiet week last week against the Bills, catching three passes for 55 yards in his team's big upset victory. He only had three targets, which was a sharp drop-off after double-digit targets in each of his previous four games. This week, he'll get starting QB C.J. […]

Nick Chubb Continues to Work in Reduced Role

Houston Texans running back Nick Chubb continues to play a reduced role in the team's backfield, which keeps him from being a good fantasy play in most formats this week. Chubb has only totaled 14 rushing attempts in his last three games for a total of 80 yards, along with two catches for only four […]

Woody Marks a Strong Flex Option in Week 13

Houston Texans running back Woody Marks will look to continue establishing himself as the team's top backfield option this week, as the Texans roll into Indianapolis to face the division-leading Colts. Marks has double-digit carries in six straight weeks since the team's bye week, and he had 74 yards on his 16 carries last week […]

C.J. Stroud Ready to Return Against the Colts

Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud (concussion) has cleared the NFL's concussion protocol and will be ready to rejoin his team this week in a huge road game against the Colts. Stroud has missed the last three games since departing in Week 9 with a concussion against the Broncos. Davis Mills led the team to three […]

Texans D/ST Remains a Fringe Starting Option Against the Colts

The Houston Texans D/ST has proven to be a strong enough unit to be a starting option even in tough matchups like this week's on the road in Indianapolis against the Colts. The Texans held Josh Allen and the Bills to only 19 points last Thursday night, while racking up eight sacks to go with […]

Ka'imi Fairbairn Worth a Look as a Starter in Week 13

Houston Texans kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn returned from a two-week absence due to a quad injury last week and looked solid in his team's win over the Bills. This week, he'll take on the Colts indoors at Lucas Oil Stadium in a divisional contest. Against the Bills, he made all three of his field goal attempts […]

Riley Patterson a Deep-League Option Against New Orleans

Miami Dolphins kicker Riley Patterson will continue to fill in for Jason Sanders (hip) as he has all season, and this week, he's in a good kicking matchup against the Saints as the Dolphins return from their bye week. Patterson has connected on 17 of his 19 field goal attempts and 23 of his 24 […]

Dolphins D/ST a Strong Starting Option in Week 13

The Miami Dolphins D/ST has been vulnerable throughout the season, but they're in a great matchup in Week 13 against the Saints. The Dolphins are the No. 7 DST in RotoBaller's Week 13 rankings against rookie QB Tyler Shough and fill-in rookie running back Devin Neal, who will take over after Alvin Kamara (knee) was […]

Is Greg Dulcich's Window Closing?

Miami Dolphins tight end Greg Dulcich split snaps with Julian Hill in the team's last game in Week 11, but he could play a smaller role in Week 13 against the Saints. Darren Waller (pec) is questionable and could return from IR, forcing Dulich into an uninvolved role off the bench. Dulich was brought in […]

Darren Waller Could Return From Injured Reserve Against New Orleans

Miami Dolphins tight end Darren Waller (pectoral) is questionable for the team's Week 13 contest against the Saints. He is still on IR and would need to be activated before Sunday's matchup, but coach Mike McDaniel said when asked about Waller, "He's in play... We'll see how he feels today, but if there's not a […]

Tua Tagovailoa Remains a Low-End QB2

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has thrown for over 170 yards in four straight games, and his team has won three of the four games, with six touchdowns and three interceptions during that span. Tua managed to lead his team to a win over the Commanders before last week's bye week, completing 14 of 20 […]

Cedrick Wilson Jr. In a Growing Role in Miami's Offense

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Cedrick Wilson Jr. played more snaps than Nick Westbrook-Ikhine for the first time this season in Week 11 before the team's bye week. He served as the team's third receiver behind Jaylen Waddle and Malik Washington, but he didn't get any targets. He has just two catches for nine yards on […]

Malik Washington Only an Option in Deep Formats

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Malik Washington has hauled in multiple catches in nine straight games and has served as the team's second receiver since the injury to Tyreek Hill (knee) in Week 4. While the receptions have been consistent, his yardage has typically been very minimal. He has only averaged 21.3 receiving yards per game […]

Jaylen Waddle Is a WR1 in Week 13

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle will be coming off his bye week this Sunday for a home game against the Saints. Waddle has been a huge part of the Dolphins' recent surge and emerged as a reliable starter every week. The 27-year-old had over 80 yards five times in his last seven games and […]

Ollie Gordon II Is Only a Deep Sleeper In Week 13

Miami Dolphins running back Ollie Gordon II will continue to be the team's primary backup as they come back from their bye week and host the Saints. Gordon had a touchdown in Week 11 with nine carries for 45 rushing yards and a touchdown against the Commanders in Madrid. He has three touchdowns on the […]

De'Von Achane Is an Outstanding Play Against the Saints

Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane has been on fire for the Dolphins during their recent run of success, and he is in a smash spot this week against the Saints. Achane produced 120 rushing yards and 45 receiving yards in Miami's win over the Commanders before last week's bye, and he was even better […]

Is Sam LaPorta Out for the Season? Injury Update on Coming Back for Fantasy Football (Week 13)

Detroit Lions tight end Sam LaPorta was a consistent and important part of the Lions' passing game, but he was placed on IR before Week 11's matchup against the Eagles. While he will be eligible to come off IR before the end of the regular season, reports about his injury make that seem unlikely. Will […]
