Zach Thompson

1207 articles

Zach has been covering fantasy sports across multiple platforms and websites since 2008, and he's been playing fantasy sports since the late 90s, when he totaled the fantasy scores from the box scores in the newspaper. He has covered a variety of sports from a fantasy perspective, including the main ones like baseball, basketball, golf, football, and hockey, while also jumping into some more exotic options like Australian Rules Football and rugby. Basically, any sport that has a fantasy format--he'll play it! Even though he grew up almost 8,000 miles away in Guam, he was raised a diehard Boston sports fan. After playing soccer competitively throughout high school and college, Zach now lives in central Massachusetts with his wife and four children. He attends as many games in as many sports as possible and has found a passion for watching minor league baseball and tracking player development. Zach specializes in finding bargain plays from obscure spots, and nothing is sweeter than when a low ownership bargain option carries your fantasy team to the win!

Tua Tagovailoa Ready to Build on Big Win Over the Bills?

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa led his team to a big win over the Bills last week, and he's in a favorable matchup this week against the Commanders in the early Sunday morning game from Madrid. Tua finished with 173 passing yards, two touchdowns, and still threw two interceptions. He has 17 touchdowns and 13 […]

Riley Patterson an Emergency Kicker Option to Consider?

Miami Dolphins kicker Riley Patterson is a fringe starting option this week as the Dolphins face the Commanders in Madrid. Patterson made a 46-yard field goal in his only field goal attempt last week against the Bills, but he did miss an extra point attempt for the first time this season. He's 14-for-16 on field-goal […]

When Will Chris Godwin Return and Be Back? Fantasy Football Injury Update for Week 11 (2025)

The Buccaneers are 6-3 through nine games this season, but they are in a tough matchup during Week 11 against the Bills in Buffalo. They lost in Week 10 to the Patriots after coming back from their bye week, and one area where they need depth is at wide receiver. With Mike Evans (collarbone) still […]

Mark Williams Listed as Out Thursday Against Indiana

Phoenix Suns center Mark Williams (right knee injury management) will not play Thursday night when the Suns host the Pacers. It's not surprising that Williams will get the night off since the team is playing for the second night in a row after defeating the Mavericks on Wednesday for their fourth straight win. While Williams […]

Jalen Brunson Out For at Least Friday with an Ankle Sprain

New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson (ankle) will miss Friday's matchup with the Heat due to a Grade 1 ankle sprain suffered in Wednesday's loss to the Magic. Brunson will be evaluated daily, so it doesn't look like a serious or long-term issue at this point, but he could miss a few games depending on […]

Kristaps Porzingis Will Rest Thursday Night

Atlanta Hawks center Kristaps Porzingis (rest) will not play Thursday on the second night of the Hawks' back-to-back, as expected. With Porzinigis listed as out against the Jazz, Okyeka Okongwu and Mouhamed Gueye will get extra playing time and have big-time potential. Okongwu had 12 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and two blocks when Porzingis […]

Paolo Banchero Ruled Out for At Least Friday's Game

Orlando Magic forward Paolo Banchero (groin) had an MRI on Thursday that confirmed that he has a strained groin and will miss at least Friday's game against the Nets. While the Magic didn't put any timeline on his return, he will be evaluated each day, and when he returns will depend on his response to […]

Brandon Aiyuk - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Injury News

When Will Brandon Aiyuk Return and Be Back? Fantasy Football Injury Update for Week 11 (2025)

The 49ers have dealt with multiple injuries this season in key positions, and they're still waiting for quarterback Brock Purdy and wide receivers Ricky Pearsall and Brandon Aiyuk to get back on the field. They've stayed in contention with their backups, but getting healthy could help them make a strong playoff push down the stretch. […]

Paolo Banchero Will Undergo an MRI

Orlando Magic forward Paolo Banchero (groin) is hopeful that he avoided major injury on Wednesday night against the Knicks, but he will undergo an MRI to determine the severity and extent of the injury. Banchero sustained the injury early in the second quarter after trying to accelerate up the floor after snagging a defensive rebound. […]

Jaylon Tyson Will Miss a Second Straight Game on Thursday

Cleveland Cavaliers guard/forward Jaylon Tyson (concussion) will not be ready to return for Thursday night's matchup with the Raptors. Tyson averaged 25.9 minutes per game in his first 11 games this season, including seven starts. He chipped in 11.1 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. His next chance to return will […]

Lonzo Ball Will Not Play Thursday

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Lonzo Ball (knee) will not play in the second game of the team's back-to-back on Thursday night due to left knee injury management. Ball played 20 minutes on Wednesday in Miami and had 15 points and eight assists while helping to fill in for Darius Garland (toe) and Donovan Mitchell (rest). Mitchell […]

Darius Garland Ruled Out Thursday

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Darius Garland (toe) will miss the second game of the team's back-to-back on Thursday, as expected. He's dealing with what the team is calling a contusion, which indicates he's not facing an extended absence. However, he will miss a second straight game after sitting out Wednesday's win as well. Since Lonzo Ball […]

Ochai Agbaji Ruled Out Thursday vs. Cavaliers

Toronto Raptors guard/forward Ochai Agbaji (back) was ruled out after he was originally listed as questionable for Thursday's matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers. It will be his third absence in his team's last four games, and he played just 15 minutes in a spot start during his one active game during that stretch. For the […]

8 Running Back Committees With Upside: Key Fantasy Football Takeaways for Week 11

Playoff races are starting to shape up, and contenders are emerging as the NFL regular season heads into a busy Week 11. Trying to set their offense up for the most success, many teams are utilizing running back committees in their backfields. That strategy allows multiple players a chance to succeed and produce fantasy points […]

Devin Vassell Good to Go for Wednesday

San Antonio Spurs guard/forward Devin Vassell (migraine) is not on the injury report for his team's Wednesday night home game against the Warriors. Vassell had to leave Monday's game in the middle of the third quarter and did not return, but it doesn't look like he'll be impacted going forward. In his first nine games […]

Josh Giddey Is Questionable Wednesday Against the Pistons

Chicago Bulls guard Josh Giddey (ankle) was listed as questionable on the team's injury report for Wednesday night's road game in Detroit. He missed his first game of the season on Monday against the Spurs, and Ayo Dosunmu, Kevin Huerter, and Tre Jones picked up extra work in his absence, with Huerter moving into the […]

Giannis Antetokounmpo Listed as Questionable for Wednesday

Milwaukee Bucks forward/center Giannis Antetokounmpo (knee) was listed as questionable for Wednesday night's game against the Hornets due to left knee patellar tendinopathy. Giannis has averaged 32.9 minutes per game in his 10 games this season while missing only one contest all year. He's produced 33.6 points, 11.9 rebounds, 6.2 assists, and 1.3 blocks with […]

LaMelo Ball Ruled Out for Wednesday

Charlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball (ankle) was assigned to the Hornets' G League affiliate, the Greensboro Swarm, to get some practice reps on Tuesday, but he will not be ready to return to the floor just yet. He was listed as out for Wednesday night's game against the Bucks and will miss his fifth straight […]

Taylor Hendricks Will Miss a Second Straight Game on Tuesday

Utah Jazz forward Taylor Hendricks (hamstring) was listed as out for his team's Tuesday night matchup with the Pacers. Hendricks has averaged 4.4 points and 4.2 rebounds per game while playing 16.4 minutes per game in nine games, including three starts. The third-year forward is dealing with hamstring soreness rather than a strain, which would […]

Devin Carter Ruled Out Tuesday Against Denver

Sacramento Kings guard Devin Carter was a late addition to the team's injury report and will be sidelined for their Tuesday night matchup at home against the Nuggets. Carter is only playing 6.0 minutes per game and has chipped in only 0.9 points, 0.9 rebounds, and 0.9 assists in his seven games so far this […]

Domantas Sabonis Will Play Tuesday Night

Sacramento Kings center Domantas Sabonis (ribs) was listed as questionable for Tuesday's matchup with Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets, but he has been upgraded to available. He played through a questionable tag on Sunday against the Timberwolves as well, finishing with 20 points, 13 rebounds, three assists, and one steal in 30 minutes. He should […]

Jalen Green Will Miss 4-6 Weeks

Phoenix Suns guard Jalen Green (hamstring) played just one full game for the Suns before leaving his second contest after re-aggravating his hamstring injury. He'll miss at least the next 4-to-6 weeks, according to the team, putting his return in mid-to-late December. Green was one of the key returns in the Kevin Durant trade to […]

Al Horford Will Not Play Tuesday

Golden State Warriors forward/center Al Horford (injury management) will not play on Tuesday in the first game of his team's road back-to-back in Oklahoma City. The Warriors have been very careful with the veteran's workload this season and will look to get him back for Wednesday's matchup in San Antonio. In his absence on Tuesday, […]

Sam Hauser Will Be Available Tuesday Against the Sixers

Boston Celtics guard/forward Sam Hauser (wrist) will play through a sprained wrist after being upgraded from probable to available for Tuesday night's road game against Philadelphia. Brandon Clarke Expected to Miss 6-9 More Weeks

Memphis Grizzlies forward/center Brandon Clarke had an arthroscopic procedure on his right knee this past offseason, and he is starting to ramp up his basketball activities, according to the team's medical update. Clarke still has a long way to go, though, and is expected to return to play in six to nine weeks, putting his […]

Ochai Agbaji Ruled Out Tuesday Against the Nets

Toronto Raptors guard/forward Ochai Agbaji (back) will miss his second game of the season on Tuesday night, when his team visits the Nets. This will be the first […]

Joel Embiid Ruled Out Tuesday Against Boston

Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid (knee) was not on the injury report and looked to be on track to play on Tuesday, but he was then ruled out on Tuesday afternoon. Somewhat alarmingly, it wasn't Embiid's left knee that was the issue for Tuesday, but his right knee. The big man was expected to return […]

Is Tyjae Spears An Option Coming Back From His Bye Week?

Tennessee Titans running back Tyjae Spears will have a tough matchup as his team returns from its bye week against the Texans, but he's worth a look from the waiver wire since he has been working in such a prominent role in the Titans' backfield. Spears missed the first four weeks of the season, but […]
