Zach Thompson

1220 articles

Zach has been covering fantasy sports across multiple platforms and websites since 2008, and he's been playing fantasy sports since the late 90s, when he totaled the fantasy scores from the box scores in the newspaper. He has covered a variety of sports from a fantasy perspective, including the main ones like baseball, basketball, golf, football, and hockey, while also jumping into some more exotic options like Australian Rules Football and rugby. Basically, any sport that has a fantasy format--he'll play it! Even though he grew up almost 8,000 miles away in Guam, he was raised a diehard Boston sports fan. After playing soccer competitively throughout high school and college, Zach now lives in central Massachusetts with his wife and four children. He attends as many games in as many sports as possible and has found a passion for watching minor league baseball and tracking player development. Zach specializes in finding bargain plays from obscure spots, and nothing is sweeter than when a low ownership bargain option carries your fantasy team to the win!

DeMario Douglas Hits 100 Yards for the First Time In His Career

New England Patriots wide receiver DeMario Douglas had his best game of 2025 in Week 9 against the Falcons, posting a season-high four catches for his first 100-yard performance in his three years with the Patriots. Douglas stepped up in place of Kayshon Boutte (hamstring), who exited early with an injury, and he could stay […]

Darius Slayton Posts New Season-High in Receiving Yards

New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton finished Week 9's loss to the 49ers with five catches on seven targets for a team-high 62 receiving yards. It was also his best personal total of the year as he continues to work as one of rookie Jaxson Dart's top receivers. He came close to an even […]

Marcus Mariota Expected to Return to Starting Role for Washington

Washington Commanders quarterback Marcus Mariota is expected to be the Commanders' starting QB for the next several weeks following the elbow injury suffered by Jayden Daniels on Sunday night. Daniels is without a timetable to return, but could still be back this season. He'll be sidelined for a while, though, which will allow Mariota to […]

Logan Wilson Traded to the Cowboys

The Cincinnati Bengals are trading linebacker Logan Wilson to the Cowboys in exchange for a 2026 seventh-round draft pick. Wilson was a third-round pick from Wyoming and developed into a key contributor on the Begals defense with at least 100 total tackles in each of the last four seasons. In July of 2023, he signed […]

Terrell Jennings Scores His First NFL Touchdown

New England Patriots running back Terrell Jennings got his biggest workload of the season in Week 9 against the Falcons, and he converted his 11 carries to 35 rushing yards and a touchdown in the Patriots' 24-23 win. He hauled in his only target for a nine-yard catch as well. The undrafted rookie from Florida […]

Tez Johnson Ready to Resume Rookie Breakout

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Tez Johnson will return from his Week 9 bye week and face the Patriots in Week 10, and he makes a great option off the waiver wire if he's available in your league. The seventh-rounder out of Oregon has stepped up in the last few weeks with multiple Bucs receivers […]

Mason Taylor Is a Great Pickup After His Bye Week

New York Jets tight end Mason Taylor is one of the best waiver wire pickups available this week, as he and the Jets return from their bye week. The second-round rookie went into the off week on a high note by snagging the game-winning pass (from RB Breece Hall) against the Bengals to secure the […]

Brashard Smith Worth a Waiver-Wire Stash?

Kansas City Chiefs running back Brashard Smith continues to be a part of the Chiefs' backfield rotation, but he had a disappointing showing in Week 9 against the Bills. He had three carries for seven yards and couldn't haul in his only target. The converted receiver was drafted by the Chiefs in the seventh round, […]

Harold Fannin Jr. Ready to Roll Coming Off the Browns' Bye Week

Cleveland Browns tight end Harold Fannin Jr. will be back in action in Week 10 after the team had its bye in Week 9. The third-round rookie from Bowling Green has been excellent in his first eight games in the NFL, averaging 4.8 catches for 44 yards per game. He scored his second touchdown of […]

Bhayshul Tuten Involved in Jaguars Return from Their Bye Week

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Bhayshul Tuten matched his season-high with 10 offensive touches in Week 9, taking nine carries for 29 yards and his third NFL touchdown while also adding a catch on his only target for a loss of three yards. While he was involved, Tuten still played solidly behind Travis Etienne Jr., who […]

Kayshon Boutte - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Quentin Johnston, Courtland Sutton, Kayshon Boutte: Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Picks for Fantasy Football Week 9

Week 9 continues a busy part of the season for bye weeks, and multiple key wide receiver injuries have also stretched the position even thinner. While some every-week superstars should still be started in every format regardless of matchups, many times the ultimate deciding factors of winning or losing a fantasy matchup are found on […]

NBA DFS: Top Daily Fantasy Expert Picks for DraftKings, FanDuel (11/1/25)

Welcome back, RotoBallers! The NBA starts the month of November with six games on the scoreboard this Saturday night. DraftKings chooses to focus on the meat of the schedule, including the four games starting between 6:00 p.m. ET and 8:00 p.m. ET. FanDuel has four games on its main slate as well, but it leaves […]

Texans D/ST Remains a Fringe Starting Option

The Houston Texans defense has been excellent this season, holding opponents to 20 points or fewer in all but one of their seven games. Last week at home, they held the 49ers to 15 points, with two sacks and an interception. Will Anderson Jr. continues to lead an excellent pass rush, and Derek Stingley Jr. […]

Ka'imi Fairbairn Is in a Tough Matchup in Week 9

Houston Texans kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn has been a starting kicker for fantasy teams for most of the season, but there may be a better option available this week. He has converted 17 of his 19 field goal attempts this season, with both misses from beyond 50 yards. He has made five field goals of more […]

Harrison Bryant Could Step into a Larger Role Vs. the Broncos

Houston Texans tight end Harrison Bryant has been the team's primary backup since Week 2, but his production has been limited to just one catch for five yards on four targets all year. He could be lined up for more work this week, though, since Dalton Schultz (knee/shoulder) has a questionable tag heading into a […]

Dalton Schultz Will Look to Play Through Questionable Tag Against Denver

Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz (knee/shoulder) is officially questionable for Week 9's matchup with the Broncos, but the veteran from Stanford was able to put in a full practice Friday and seems to be on track to play through the injury. He's RotoBaller's No. 20 tight end this week if he does play, and […]

Xavier Hutchinson Is Hard to Start in Crowded Receiver Room

Houston Texans wide receiver Xavier Hutchinson has found the end zone three times in his last three games and is coming off a season-high five catches for 69 yards and a touchdown in last week's win over the 49ers. However, with Christian Kirk (hamstring) and Nico Collins (concussion) returning from their injuries, the Texans suddenly […]

Jaylin Noel in a Reduced Role This Weekend?

Houston Texans wide receiver Jaylin Noel has been one of the team's busiest receivers in the last two weeks, hauling in nine of 13 targets for a total of 140 receiving yards in his last two contests. The rookie from Iowa State was filling in for Christian Kirk (hamstring) and showed the ability to make […]

Jayden Higgins Is Tough to Start Against the Broncos

Houston Texans wide receiver Jayden Higgins worked his way into a larger role for the team while injuries to Christian Kirk (hamstring) and Nico Collins (concussion) opened an opportunity. While he still has upside, he's tough to count on in fantasy linesups for Week 9 against the tough Broncos secondary, with both Kirk and Collins […]

Christian Kirk Is a High-Risk Play in His Return

Houston Texans wide receiver Christian Kirk is set to return in Week 9 from a two-game absence due to a hamstring injury, but he steps into a brutal matchup against the Broncos, who have allowed the second-fewest wide receiver fantasy points this season. Kirk has missed two games on two occasions this season with hamstring […]

Nico Collins Does Not Have an Injury Designation vs. the Broncos

Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins is ready to return to the lineup in Week 9 against the Broncos after missing Week 8 with a concussion. Collins is in a tough matchup against a strong pass defense, but he still brings elite upside. The fifth-year receiver from Michigan has averaged 7.7 targets per game this […]

Nick Chubb Is a Risky Flex Play in Week 9

Houston Texans running back Nick Chubb continues to share time in the backfield with Woody Marks, with his primary workload coming on early downs. Chubb had 17 carries last week compared to just 11 for Marks, but since he only had two targets and two catches for 13 yards, Marks was a slightly better fantasy […]

Woody Marks Ready to Go Against the Broncos

Houston Texans running back Woody Marks (calf) was limited in practice this week but does not have an injury designation for Week 9's matchup against the Broncos. Marks had a massive breakthrough performance in Week 4 with 69 rushing yards, 50 receiving yards, and a pair of touchdowns. He took a back seat to Nick […]

C.J. Stroud Is a Fringe QB2 in a Tough Matchup

Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud has shown positive signs in several of his last few games, with multiple touchdowns in three of his last four games. However, this week, he and the Texans have a tough matchup against the Broncos, who have allowed the fourth-fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. Stroud will get some […]

Oronde Gadsden II - Fantasy Football Rankings, Waiver Wire Pickups, Draft Sleepers

Oronde Gadsden II, Jake Ferguson, Dalton Kincaid: Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Picks for Fantasy Football Week 9

While it isn't as flashy or deep as some of the other fantasy football positions, tight end is always a critical slot to fill in your lineup each week. The lack of depth at the position actually makes production even more important, and several strong options have emerged as the season has unfolded, bringing good […]

Is Trey Benson The Starting Running Back For The Cardinals When He Returns?

Arizona Cardinals running back Trey Benson was ready to get his shot to be the Cardinals' RB1 before he landed on the injured reserve. When he returns, will he get his starting job back? Let's take a look at how he will fit back into Arizona's offense, along with Bam Knight and Emari Demercado. At […]

Isaiah Joe Will Be Available Thursday Against the Wizards

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Isaiah Joe (knee) has been upgraded to available for Thursday night's home game against Washington. The veteran guard had been dealing with a left knee contusion that had forced him to miss the first five games of the season, but he'll be ready for his season debut on Thursday. Joe could […]

Mitchell Robinson Practices Fully Thursday; Will Be a Game-Time Decision Friday

New York Knicks center Mitchell Robinson (injury management, ankle) was able to practice fully with the team on Thursday, and he'll be a game-time decision for Friday's matchup with the Bulls. Robinson traveled with the team on their three-game road trip with the hope that he could play at some point, and Friday's game in […]
