Zach Thompson

1124 articles

Zach has been covering fantasy sports across multiple platforms and websites since 2008, and he's been playing fantasy sports since the late 90s, when he totaled the fantasy scores from the box scores in the newspaper. He has covered a variety of sports from a fantasy perspective, including the main ones like baseball, basketball, golf, football, and hockey, while also jumping into some more exotic options like Australian Rules Football and rugby. Basically, any sport that has a fantasy format--he'll play it! Even though he grew up almost 8,000 miles away in Guam, he was raised a diehard Boston sports fan. After playing soccer competitively throughout high school and college, Zach now lives in central Massachusetts with his wife and four children. He attends as many games in as many sports as possible and has found a passion for watching minor league baseball and tracking player development. Zach specializes in finding bargain plays from obscure spots, and nothing is sweeter than when a low ownership bargain option carries your fantasy team to the win!

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine Getting in Plenty of Cardio

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine has seen his snap share spike the last two weeks since the Tyreek Hill (knee) injury, but he has turned in no fantasy production as a result. As the Dolphins face the Browns this week, NWI will look to get involved in the offense after totaling just one catch […]

Malik Washington Still Waiting for Breakthrough

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Malik Washington has stepped up as the team's second receiver since the season-ending injury to Tyreek Hill (knee). He hasn't been able to produce much yardage, though, coming into this week's matchup with the Browns. Washington has had four catches in each of the last two weeks, but hasn't had a […]

Jaylen Waddle Thriving as Top Target

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle has stepped up in the last two games for Miami without Tyreek Hill (knee), and he is a strong starter in standard leagues this week, even in a tough matchup against the Browns. In his two games since Hill's season-ending injury, Waddle had six catches for 110 yards and […]

Ollie Gordon II Still in Very Limited Role

Miami Dolphins running back Ollie Gordon II continues to serve as the primary backup for De'Von Achane, but he hasn't been involved enough to make him a good fantasy play this week against the Browns. Gordon played 24% of snaps last week against the Chargers but only had two carries for one yard and one […]

De'Von Achane Keeps Rolling as a Top RB Option in Tough Matchup

Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane has been one of the top running backs all season despite his team's offensive inconsistencies. Achane had his best game of the season last week, racking up 128 rushing yards, two rushing touchdowns, four catches, and 22 receiving yards in his team's narrow loss to the Chargers. He has […]

Tua Tagovailoa Remains a Fringe QB2

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa had a turbulent week after calling out teammates after last week's loss and apologizing mid-week. He and the Dolphins will try to put that all behind them when they visit the Browns in Week 7 in a matchup of two 1-5 teams. Tua's numbers had been trending up with multiple […]

Mason Taylor - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Hunter Henry, Mason Taylor, Michael Mayer: Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Picks for Fantasy Football Week 7

Tight end is always a tricky position to get a clear read on from week to week, especially once you move beyond the obvious locked-in starters at the top of the rankings. Some fringe players have shown potential in some weeks but struggled to be consistent. Due to bye week, injuries, or ineffectiveness, it's always […]

Troy Franklin - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire

Elic Ayomanor, Troy Franklin, Christian Kirk: Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Picks for Fantasy Football Week 7

Wide receiver is a very deep position in fantasy football, but that depth has been put to the test over the last few weeks with multiple key receivers going down with injuries. With bye weeks also in play, some fantasy teams are stretched extremely thin at the position coming into Week 7. The position has […]

Chris Livingston Waived by the Bucks

Free agent forward Chris Livingston has been waived by the Milwaukee Bucks, who are in the middle of a roster crunch for their final roster. Livingston was the final pick of the 2023 NBA draft and signed a guaranteed deal in the offseason. He played 42 games with the Bucks over his two seasons in […]

Nique Clifford Shines in Keegan Murray's Absence

Sacramento Kings forward Nique Clifford stepped up on Wednesday night in his team's exhibition loss to the Clippers. Clifford scored 19 points on an efficient 8-of-13 from the field, and added three rebounds, one steal, and two three-pointers. The first-round pick from Colorado State could be a great late-round pick since he should get a […]

Cooper Flagg Continues to Start at Point Guard

Dallas Mavericks guard/forward Cooper Flagg has started the last two preseason games at point guard for his new team. He filled in with D'Angelo Russell unavailable on Monday, but he stayed in the starting lineup at point guard in Wednesday's game event with Russell coming off the bench. The team hasn't confirmed the No. 1 […]

Ron Harper Jr. Earns a Two-Way Deal with the Celtics

Boston Celtics forward Ron Harper Jr. earned a roster spot on the Celtics with a strong preseason. After entering the league as an undrafted rookie out of Rutgers in 2022, Harper played 11 games across the last three seasons in Toronto and Detroit. He spent most of his time in the G League, including a […]

Spencer Dinwiddie Waived by the Hornets

Free agent guard Spencer Dinwiddie has been waived by the Hornets, according to ESPN's Shams Charania, who adds that Charlotte had to release a guaranteed salary before next week's season opener. Dinwiddie signed a one-year deal with Charlotte in early July after spending 2025 with the Mavericks. He put up 11.0 points, 4.4 assists, and […]

When Will Ricky Pearsall Return and Be Back? Fantasy Football Injury Update for Week 7 (2025)

Throughout his first two seasons in the NFL, Ricky Pearsall has been very productive when on the field, but has dealt with a variety of different injuries. This season, it seems like everyone on the 49ers has been on and off the field with injury issues, and Pearsall is unfortunately no exception. Most recently, the […]

When Will Chris Godwin Jr. Return and Be Back? Fantasy Football Injury Update for Week 7 (2025)

The Buccanneers are missing multiple wide receivers coming into their Monday Night Football matchup in Week 7 against the Detroit Lions. Chris Godwin Jr. is returning this season after a gruesome lower leg injury last year, and he made it back on the field for a couple of games before a new injury forced him […]

6 Running Back Committees With Upside: Key Fantasy Football Takeaways for Week 7

Across the NFL, several teams are using more than one running back in a rotation, dividing the work and production. The situation can be a great opportunity for fantasy football managers since more players are involved every week, but it can also be very unpredictable and rapidly changing from week to week. To help you […]

Luther Burden III Leads Bears Receivers in Week 6; More Work Coming?

Chicago Bears wide receiver Luther Burden III has shown a high ceiling in his first five games in the NFL, and it looks like he could have more work coming his way in the coming weeks. After a bye week in Week 5, he led all Bears' wide receivers with 51 receiving yards on his […]

Matthew Golden Starting to Find His Way?

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Matthew Golden led the team with 86 receiving yards in Week 6 against the Bengals and added 16 yards on a pair of rushes as well. The Packers seem to be focused on getting the first-round pick more involved in the offense, and the playmaker is starting to look more […]

Jaxson Dart Has Shown a High Ceiling, But a Tough Test Looms

New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart has helped his team to two big home wins over the Chargers and Eagles in his three games since taking over as starting QB, but he also lost a game on the road to the Saints. In Week 6, he threw for 195 yards and a touchdown in New […]

Is Week 7 the Time for a Tez Johnson Breakout?

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Tez Johnson seems to be trending towards a potential breakout game against the Lions in Week 7, since the Bucs will likely need him to take on a larger load due to injuries at the position. Mike Evans (hamstring), Emeka Egbuka (hamstring), and Chris Godwin Jr. (fibula) are all uncertain […]

Jake Tonges Continues to Produce in His Fill-In Role

San Francisco 49ers tight end Jake Tonges has done a great job filling in for George Kittle (hamstring), who is still on IR and has not had his practice window opened yet. Tonges grabbed a season-high seven catches for 41 yards and a touchdown in Week 5's overtime win and followed that up with six […]

Mike Vrabel Thinks RBs Might be Focusing Too Much on Ball Security

New England Patriots running backs Rhamondre Stevenson and TreVeyon Henderson may be too focused on not fumbling to maximize opportunities in the run game, according to head coach Mike Vrabel. Stevenson specifically has had fumble issues this year, losing three critical fumbles. Last week against the Saints, he did not fumble the ball but only […]

CeeDee Lamb "Looking Good" for Week 7

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb (ankle) has been sidelined since Week 3, when he left the game with a high-ankle sprain before getting any catches against the Bears. However, owner Jerry Jones said that Lamb's potential availability for Week 7's matchup with the Commanders is "looking good." The fact that Lamb was never placed […]

Harold Fannin Jr. Trending Up Once Again

Cleveland Browns tight end Harold Fannin Jr. has already been through the waiver wire cycle this season, but the rookie is heating back up and could be even more productive in the coming weeks. Fannin led the Browns with seven catches and 81 receiving yards in Week 6 against the Steelers. He was second on […]

Dawson Knox Snags His First Touchdown of the Season; More to Come?

Buffalo Bills tight end Dawson Knox found the end zone for the first time this year in Monday night's 24-14 loss to the Falcons. He only had one catch on his two targets, but made it count for a 19-yard score. Knox was in a more prominent role with Dalton Kincaid out. Kincaid was originally […]

Week 7 Waiver Wire Pickups - Ryan Flournoy, Jordan Whittington, Jalen Coker Fantasy Football Outlooks

Wide receiver is one of the most volatile positions from one week to another, as different options step into larger roles and post big games. Looking ahead to Week 7, there are a few long-shot receivers who can be speculative pickups. The three receivers in this post are all in changing situations, but bring lots […]

Michael Mayer Stepping into Starting Role

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Michael Mayer returned from his concussion and stepped right into a key role for the Raiders in their Week 6 win over the Titans. He filled in for the injured Brock Bowers (knee) and played 92% of the team's offensive snaps, catching five of his team-high seven targets for 50 […]

Kameron Johnson Lined Up for Larger Role?

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Kameron Johnson led the Bucs with 64 receiving yards by catching all four of his targets in Week 6, and he could be a big part of the team's passing game in Week 7 as well after Emeka Egbuka (hamstring) was forced to leave that game with an injury after […]

D.J. Moore Taken to the Hospital After Monday's Game

Chicago Bears wide receiver D.J. Moore left the stadium after Monday's game in an ambulance and was taken to a local area hospital for what the team is calling "precautionary medical evaluation." He will remain in the area overnight, per the team. He caught three of his five targets for 42 yards in his team's […]

Week 7 Waiver Wire Pickups - Sterling Shepard, Tez Johnson, Tre Tucker Fantasy Football Outlooks
