Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 4:
Kendre Miller, New Orleans Saints
New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller is back in the waiver mix after Travis Etienne Jr. left Sunday's loss to Las Vegas with a hamstring injury. Miller had four carries for 14 yards and caught two passes for five yards, his first offensive work since Week 1 after sitting out Week 2 as a healthy inactive. There was not much production here, but the path to more work is easy to see if Etienne misses time.
Miller handled nine carries for 30 yards and a touchdown in the opener while Alvin Kamara was sidelined, and Kamara is now back to share the backfield. RotoBaller has Miller 24th overall in its Week 4 waiver rankings and recommends him in 12-team leagues. He is not an immediate starter, but managers looking for running back depth can stash him while waiting for more clarity on Etienne's hamstring.
Brian Thomas Jr., Jacksonville Jaguars
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. continues to draw interest from teams around the league, according to ESPN. Clubs have reportedly checked on Thomas since the offseason, though Jacksonville told teams at the time that it wasn't interested in moving the 2024 first-round pick. That stance may not have changed.
Still, Thomas has been much quieter than Parker Washington and Jakobi Meyers through three games, catching seven passes for 88 yards with no touchdowns. His role shrunk considerably against New England on Sunday, when he played only 23 offensive snaps and caught one pass for eight yards. ESPN expects teams to continue asking about Thomas as the trade deadline approaches, but it would reportedly take a strong offer for Jacksonville to consider moving him.
For the time being, Thomas remains a must-sit in all leagues until his usage improves or is traded to a new team.
Kaelon Black, San Francisco 49ers
San Francisco 49ers running back Kaelon Black has seen his involvement dwindle week over week, but he remains one of the most valuable insurance backs in the league. After carrying the ball 14 times in the season opener, Black has logged only 11 carries over the past two outings, and he's a player to look out for as a potential post-waiver pickup.
With injuries mounting and bye weeks approaching, Black could be dropped by managers facing a roster crunch, and while he may not have the standalone value implied by his Week 1 usage, he is still worthy of an end-of-bench spot. Over three games, he has racked up 107 rushing yards on his 25 carries, and he has weekly RB1 potential if All-Pro Christian McCaffrey were to miss time.
Chris Bell, Miami Dolphins
Miami Dolphins rookie wide receiver Chris Bell had the best game of his young career in his team's Week 3 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, recording four catches for 67 yards on seven targets. With fellow Dolphins rookie wideout Caleb Douglas (ankle) sidelined by an ankle injury, Bell emerged as a key target for Miami quarterback Malik Willis.
Bell played on 71% of Miami's offensive snaps on Sunday and finished tied for second on the team in targets. Douglas' eventual return could impact Bell's playing time. However, the 22-year-old is only getting healthier himself after missing a large chunk of the summer while recovering from a torn ACL. As Bell gets more comfortable in terms of both health and experience, his production could continue to improve.
In PPR-scoring leagues with 12 or more teams, Bell profiles as a worthy waiver wire target for fantasy managers and a viable deep-league streamer.
Chris Godwin Jr., Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin Jr. (ankle) did not participate in his team's practice on Wednesday due to an ankle injury, per Scott Smith of buccaneers.com. The veteran wideout has gotten off to a slow start to the 2026 season, recording 10 catches for 111 yards on 11 targets across three games. The severity of Godwin Jr.'s ankle issue is not yet clear, but it appears that his status for Tampa Bay's Week 4 matchup against the Green Bay Packers could be in doubt.
Godwin Jr. missed time in 2024 with a dislocated ankle and dealt with lingering effects of the injury into the 2025 season, so this is a potentially worrying sign for fantasy managers. Even if Godwin Jr. is able to play against Green Bay in Week 4, his fantasy value is in serious question with Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield (thumb) set to miss time due to a dislocated thumb.
