Should I pickup Emanuel Wilson or Chris Brooks as fantasy football waiver wire pickups for Week 12 of 2025? Read our fantasy football waiver wire outlooks.
The Green Bay Packers have relied heavily on Josh Jacobs this season, and he's been one of the most consistent running backs in the NFL. On Sunday against the Giants, he went down with a knee injury, which could open the door for new options to get more workload in Week 12 against the Vikings
Emanuel Wilson has been Jacobs' primary backup and rotated in on about 30% of snaps for the last several weeks. Chris Brooks would also have a chance to step up if Jacobs misses time, making both interesting options to consider on the waiver wire.
Should you pick up Wilson or Brooks ahead of Week 12? Let's dive in.

Emanuel Wilson Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Outlook
Wilson took over as the top running back in Week 11 after Jacobs left in the second quarter with a knee injury. An MRI revealed no structural damage for Jacobs, and coach Matt LaFleur said Josh Jacobs is dealing with a knee contusion. He still has a chance to play this week, but if he does miss time, Wilson would be the next man up.
In his expanded role in Week 11, the third-year running back out of Fort Valley rushed 11 times for 40 yards and a touchdown, adding a nine-yard reception.

Wilson had 11 carries for 61 yards against the Steelers earlier this season and is up to 53 carries for 220 rushing yards and a touchdown on the season. He's added 11 catches on 13 targets for 69 receiving yards as well.
If Jacobs is out against the Vikings, Wilson would step into a large enough role to be a solid RB2. The Packers' offense has been productive enough to give him a high ceiling and a solid floor, even though the Vikings have been solid against the run this season. The matchup and his lack of big plays throughout his career keep him from being a "must-play" even if Jacobs is out, but he should be owned in almost all formats since he could end up a solid starting option this week if Jacobs is out.
Chris Brooks Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Outlook
Brooks would step into the role as the Packers' primary backup running back behind Wilson if Jacobs is out. The third-year back from BYU played with the Dolphins as a rookie before joining the Packers before last season. He had 36 carries for 183 yards and a touchdown last season, scoring on Christmas Eve in a rout of the Saints.
He has been a solid receiver out of the backfield when given a chance as well, catching 11 of 13 targets for 69 yards last season and seven of his nine targets for 54 yards this season. So far this year, he has had only three carries for a total of 10 rushing yards.
MarShawn Lloyd could have also been in the mix for work after Jacobs' injury, but he is still on IR at this point, and recovering from a hamstring injury he suffered in the preseason. Lloyd has more long-term upside than Brooks, but he hasn't been able to stay healthy in his two seasons since the Packers drafted him out of USC.
Should I Pickup Emanuel Wilson or Chris Brooks For Fantasy Football?
The Packers don't seem to think that Jacobs will miss extended time and are not planning on putting him on IR. So even if he's out this week, he should return in the near future. Wilson will likely be the short-term fill-in, which gives him enough upside to be added in all formats. Brooks is a deep league flier that could also emerge, but is probably best left on waiver wires in standard-sized leagues.
Wilson isn't worth blowing your FAAB budget on for just a week or two filling in, but he is a great addition if he's available.
