NRFI Betting Today - No Runs First Inning Best MLB Picks and Odds (Friday 6/13/2025)

Yoshinobu Yamamoto - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Read our best NRFI betting picks today - Major League Baseball NRFI predictions for 6/13/2025. No Runs First Inning (NRFI) betting tips, expert MLB predictions, odds, and trends.

We've got a full slate with 15 games on Friday, so there are plenty of favorable spots to choose from to bring you my best NRFI bets today and bonus bets. The goal is to go 4-0 on our NRFI picks, which range from -120 to -130 odds today.

There are a few intriguing spots for scoreless first innings on Friday. Each game we've chosen features pitchers who have performed well in the first inning, including Ryan Yarbrough vs. Garrett CrochetLuis Severino vs. Michael WachaErick Fedde vs. Freddy Peralta, and Logan Webb vs. Yoshinobu Yamamoto.

On this page, I'll provide my best NRFI bets today for MLB games on Friday, June 13, 2025. Monitor the weather and lineups for each team before placing your wagers. Odds for these bets are from DraftKings Sportsbook.

What Are MLB NRFI/YRFI Bets?

NRFI bets are bets where you try to pick whether or not two MLB teams will combine for one run in the first inning. YRFI stands for "Yes Run First Inning," while NRFI means "No Run First Inning."

We prefer to target NRFI because it tends to occur more often, which is why you usually see shorter odds compared to YRFI. It's also just more enjoyable -- whenever I take a YRFI, it feels like an inevitable loss. There's nothing more tilting than watching your team strand base-runners when you need them to score in the first inning. If you're taking the YRFI, I suggest not even watching the game.

The best part of NRFI wagers is how they settle so quickly. This is a fun sweat, as these six outs can be thrilling, especially if your pitcher works his way out of a jam. Just remember to only go with a smaller percentage of your bankroll because this can be a volatile market with even the best pitchers struggling in the first inning at times.

Best First Inning Bets Today (June 13, 2025)

  • New York Yankees at Boston Red Sox: 7:10 pm
  • Athletics at Kansas City Royals: 8:10 pm
  • St. Louis Cardinals at Milwaukee Brewers: 8:10 pm
  • San Francisco Giants at Los Angeles Dodgers

New York Yankees at Boston Red Sox NRFI (-125 DraftKings Sportsbook)

Starting Pitchers

  • NYY: Ryan Yarbrough
  • BOS: Garrett Crochet

The first NRFI starts with a rematch of Saturday, June 7th, as we have Ryan Yarbrough against Garrett Crochet.

Yarbrough has a good record vs the NRFI (5-1) and has performed well in the first time through the order, allowing a 2.70 ERA and .307 wOBA.

On the other side, Crochet is an AL Cy Young candidate, registering a 2.35 ERA and 1.07 WHIP in 88 innings. Advanced metrics, as highlighted by a 23.6 K-BB% and 2.93 SIERA, back this.

Like Yarbrough, Crochet has also been effective in the first inning, putting up a 10-4 NRFI record.

The bottom line here is we're getting a reasonable price of (-125) odds with one of the best pitchers in baseball on the mound. All we need is Yarbrough to hold down the fort in the first inning.

Hopefully, Yarbrough can keep up his success in the first time through the order so that we can hit this prop.

Athletics at Kansas City Royals NRFI (-115 DraftKings Sportsbook)

Starting Pitchers

  • ATH: Luis Severino
  • KC: Michael Wacha

The next NRFI focuses on a pair of pitchers who have performed well in the first inning, Luis Severino and Michael Wacha.

Severino has an 11-3 NRFI record, consistently keeping offenses at bay in the opening frame. What's also great about this play is that Severino has been a totally different pitcher on the road (0.87 ERA) than at home (7.10 ERA).

The Royals played a late game yesterday off a rain delay. Plus, they've been ice cold at the plate, scoring only five runs in their last three games.

Kansas City counters with Wacha here. The veteran righty has been terrific in the first inning, featuring a 13-0 record vs the NRFI.

Additionally, we've seen him allow two runs or fewer in four of his last six outings.

When you factor in each of these pitchers' excellent results in the first inning, you have to like this prop at the reasonable price of (-115) odds in this spot.

St. Louis Cardinals at Milwaukee Brewers NRFI (-145 DraftKings Sportsbook)

Starting Pitchers

  • STL: Erick Fedde
  • MIL: Freddy Peralta

The third NRFI heads to Milwaukee, where we have another pair of pitchers who have performed well in the first inning.

Erick Fedde has a respectable 8-5 NRFI record, coming off a couple of strong outings where he combined for only two earned runs allowed.

On the other side, Freddy Peralta has a 12-2 NRFI record. The veteran righty has been much more effective at home, putting up a 1.29 ERA and 0.91 WHIP compared to 3.86 ERA and 1.36 WHIP on the road.

Even with an expensive price of (-145) odds, I'm willing to take a shot here given Peralta's dominance at home.

San Francisco Giants at Los Angeles Dodgers NRFI (-130 DraftKings Sportsbook)

Starting Pitchers

  • SF: Logan Webb
  • LAD: Yoshinobu Yamamoto

The last NRFI on my Friday betting card features an intriguing pitching matchup.

Logan Webb has been terrific this season, registering a 2.58 ERA and 1.16 WHIP with a 2.53 SIERA in 87.1 innings.

The veteran has performed well vs the NRFI, as highlighted by a 9-5 record.

On the other side, Yoshinobu Yamamoto faces a Giants offense that played yesterday and is fresh off a series at Coors Field. We often see teams struggle in their first game away from the thin air in Colorado, so this is a good spot.

It's also worth noting that Yamamoto has been dominant this season, including a 2.20 ERA and 1.00 WHIP with a 3.01 SIERA. This includes an elite 11-2 NRFI record.

Despite the intriguing pitching matchup, we only have to pay -130 odds because it's a game that features a stacked Dodgers offense.

That said, I'm fine with taking that risk because I'm confident that the Giants will struggle to get to Yamamoto in a game after a series at Coors. Ride with the Giants vs. Dodgers NRFI to finish off today's card.

Notable NRFI/YRFI MLB Trends: Last 10 Games

  • Best NRFI hit rate: Brewers, White Sox (9)
  • Best YRFI hit rate: Mets, Athletics, Phillies (5)
  • Most First Inning Home Runs: Angels, Yankees (4)
  • Best First Inning Batting Average: Red Sox (.341)

Conclusion: Best MLB NRFI Bets Today (June 13, 2025)

As we head into a full Friday slate of games, today's MLB NRFI bets offer plenty of value with favorable pitching matchups and helpful trends. The focus of today's column was on pitchers who excel in the first inning, including some with elite season-long stats.

Whether you're targeting pitchers with elite strikeout rates or teams on extended NRFI streaks, this slate has something for every bettor looking for that quick six-out sweat.

Be sure to monitor starting lineups and weather before locking anything in, but don’t wait too long—some of these NRFI odds could shift as the public piles in.
