June Fantasy Baseball Rankings - Updated Rest-of-Season Outlooks by Nick Mariano

Jordan Walker - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Prospects

Nick's updated top 300 fantasy baseball rankings for roto as of Week 11 (June 7, 2023). His rest-of-season rankings and projections for hitters and pitchers.

Welcome back, RotoBallers! We are in Week 11, and more than two months of the regular season are in the books. It's time for another rankings check-in. Below is another edition of Nick Mariano's updated 2023 fantasy baseball rankings and tiers for roto leagues (5x5 mixed leagues) as of June 7, 2023. These rankings are being released in June and are looking at rest-of-season fantasy baseball rankings and player values for the rest of this MLB season from this point forward. There are many interesting storylines we are following closely, all baked into these updated rankings.

The Cincinnati Reds called up top prospect Elly De La Cruz on Tuesday. He is already off to a hit start since being promoted to the big leagues. The 21-year-old is hitting .429 (3-for-7) with a two-run home run over nine plate appearances. We have also recently seen some top prospects, such as St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Jordan Walker, Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Jonny DeLuca, Cincinnati Reds left-hander Andrew Abbott, Los Angeles Angels outfielder Jo Adell, and Seatle Mariners right-hander Bryan Woo promoted to the majors. At the same time, fantasy managers patiently wait for the call-up of Baltimore Orioles outfielder Colton Cowser (quadriceps), who is slashing .347/.484/.590 with eight home runs, 31 RBI, 45 runs, and five stolen bases over 39 games for Triple-A Norfolk. The 23-year-old returned to action on Saturday after spending time on the injured list with quad discomfort.

Atlanta Braves pitching prospect AJ Smith-Shawver is set to make his first MLB start this weekend. Andrew Abbott was terrific in his first major league start, allowing one hit and four walks while striking out six batters over six scoreless innings in Tuesday's victory over the Brewers. The southpaw picked up the win and is expected to be a key member of Cincinatti's rotation. Bryan Woo will remain in Seattle's rotation and look to rebound after getting shelled for six runs by the Rangers in his MLB debut last Saturday.

June Top-300 Fantasy Baseball Rankings Updates

Injuries continue to pile up as Texas Rangers ace Jacob deGrom (elbow) will undergo Tommy John surgery to fix a tear in his right UCL and is out for the season. The New York Yankees placed star outfielder Aaron Judge (toe) on the injured list with a contusion and a sprain in his right big toe, while Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton (ribs) heads to the IL with a left rib contusion. New York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso exited Wednesday's game after being hit on the left hand/wrist by a pitch. X-rays came back negative for Alonso, and he is considered day-to-day.

Reinforcements are coming; the Milwaukee Brewers activated shortstop Willy Adames (concussion) from the 7-day concussion list and infielder Luis Urias (hamstring) from the 60-day injured list. New York Yankees left-hander Carlos Rodon (back/forearm) threw a bullpen session on Wednesday. Miami Marlins outfielder Jazz Chisholm Jr., Colorado Rockies first baseman C.J. Cron (back), and Chicago Cubs outfielder Cody Bellinger are set to begin baseball activities and will return in June.

Miami Marlins outfielder Bryan De La Cruz is wielding a hot bat. The 26-year-old is slashing .344/.410/.594 with two home runs, 13 RBI, six runs, and five walks over his last nine games. Cincinnati Reds prospect Matt McLain has shown no signs of slowing down, hitting .409 (9-for-22) with three extra-base hits and an RBI over his last five contests. St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Jordan Walker is slashing .200/.304/.350 with a home run and two walks across 23 plate appearances since being promoted again on June 2nd.

Some players are off to a terrific start, while some have struggled mightily to start the year. Which of these starts do we take seriously, and which do we put less stock into? Is it time to elevate our expectations on certain players and elevate touted prospects into a higher tier for fantasy baseball leagues? How much patience must we show for highly-touted players who have struggled out of the gate, especially veterans with proven track records?

Hopefully, the rankings below will give you some perspective on our thoughts on these topics and help you assess the strength of your rosters going forward. Let's see where players such as Elly De La Cruz, Matt McLain, Andrew Abbott, Bryan De La Cruz, Jordan Walker, Jose Siri, Spencer Steer, Tyler Glasnow, Luis Arraez, Ezequiel Duran, Michael Kopech, James Paxton, Braxton Garrett, Louie Varland, and Miles Mikolas rank, all of who are off to interesting starts in 2023.

Top 300 Fantasy Baseball Rankings - Rest-Of-Season

These rankings will be updated every week throughout the season, so some of these situations are very fluid. It's not panic time yet, and we may not be ready to elevate hot-starting players into the elite yet either, but it's certainly a good checkpoint for the long fantasy season.
