Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 3:
Aaron Jones Sr., Minnesota Vikings
Minnesota Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell said that veteran running back Aaron Jones Sr. (knee) will be active on Sunday in Week 3 on the road against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to Alec Lewis of The Athletic. Jones came away with a knee issue after the Week 2 win over the division-rival Chicago Bears, but he was able to do enough in practice this week to be cleared.
The 31-year-old saw a hefty 23 carries for 105 yards last Sunday after the Vikings placed backfield mate Jordan Mason (thumb) on Injured Reserve. With Mason out for at least another three games, Jones is in line for more of the lion's share of backfield touches, but can his body handle the workload increase?
It is something the Vikings are a bit concerned about, so expect rookie Demond Claiborne and DeeJay Dallas to see as much complementary work as they can handle this weekend in Tampa.
Fantasy managers should consider Jones a volume-based, low-end RB2 option as the Vikings look to start the 2026 season with a 3-0 record. Jones should have a slightly higher ceiling this week for fantasy managers with quarterback Kyler Murray returning from the concussion he suffered in Week 1.
Bucky Irving, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Bucky Irving has arguably been the team's most dynamic offensive player through the first two weeks of the season, but offensive coordinator Zac Robinson told reporters on Thursday that the third-year back "is on a bit of a pitch count due to the longevity of the season." Robinson also said the team wants to ride the hot hand, which, so far, has clearly been Irving.
The Buccaneers added veteran Kenny Gainwell on a two-year, $14 million free agent contract, but through two weeks, Irving has handled over 78% of the team's running back rush share while running 18 more routes and earning more than twice as many targets. Irving is the fantasy RB15 through two weeks, and while his success has depended largely on his heavy usage in an offense that ranks near the middle of the league in terms of efficiency and results, fantasy managers can continue to feel good about starting him until the team's actions match Robinson's messaging.
Tyjae Spears, Tennessee Titans
Tennessee Titans running back Tyjae Spears (ankle) will be limited in practice on Friday, according to Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com. Spears missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday, so his return to the field on Friday should give him at least a chance to suit up this Sunday against the New York Giants. However, he is definitely more questionable to play this weekend than backfield mate Tony Pollard (ankle), who is also dealing with ankle soreness this week. Pollard missed practice on Wednesday, but he was limited on Thursday and upgraded to a full session on Friday.
Fantasy managers should expect the 25-year-old Spears to take a questionable tag into the weekend, potentially making him a game-time decision for Week 3 in the Big Apple. Through two weeks in the change-of-pace role behind Pollard, Spears has 10 carries for 53 yards (5.3 yards per carry) and four catches on six targets for 41 yards. If both he and Pollard are active this weekend, Spears will once again be in play as a flex option for fantasy managers in PPR formats.
Blake Corum, Los Angeles Rams
Los Angeles Rams running back Blake Corum rushed for 79 yards on 12 carries during Monday's Week 2 win over the New York Giants. He also converted his lone target into a 13-yard reception. For the second week in a row, Corum was nearly as involved as teammate Kyren Williams. Both players rushed 12 times on Monday, and they had similar results, with Williams averaging 7.1 yards per carry and Corum averaging 6.6 yards per carry.
This level of efficiency is nothing new, as Corum posted 5.1 YPC last season and 5.4 YPC in Week 1. The 25-year-old lacks receiving upside, and he hasn't scored a touchdown yet this year. Nevertheless, he has demonstrated a very encouraging floor as a ball-carrier, and he's a safe bet for at least 10-12 carries per game. Corum will continue to have RB3/flex appeal for Week 3 against the Denver Broncos.
D'Andre Swift, Chicago Bears
Chicago Bears running back D'Andre Swift is off to a very good start to the 2026 season and that could continue as he could see an increased role in the offense with quarterback Caleb Williams expected to miss time with a hamstring injury. Swift came out of the gate this season rolling with an epic Week 1 performance against the Panthers when he rushed 18 times for 124 yards and three touchdowns with one catch for 10 yards.
The going got tougher against the Vikings in Week 2, but he still carried the ball 16 times for just 45 rushing yards and caught five passes for 54 yards. Against the Eagles in Week 3, Swift should continue to be heavily involved maybe even more than the previous two weeks.
While the Eagles could sell out to stop Swift and the run game without the threat of Williams and the passing attack, Swift could also use his increased role to have another good fantasy day.
