Week 5 fantasy football waiver wire pickups for Jack Bech, Dont'e Thornton Jr., Ryan Flournoy in 2025. Read their waiver wire outlooks for fantasy football.
The Las Vegas Raiders traded away wide receiver Jakobi Meyers to the Jacksonville Jaguars right before the trade deadline, creating a vacuum in targets that will have to be filled in by the team's remaining pass-catchers.
Wide receivers Jack Bech and Dont'e Thornton Jr. appear to be in line to benefit immediately, however much that ends up being. In other news, the Dallas Cowboys struggled on offense in Week 9, though WR Ryan Flournoy was able to snag a touchdown catch.
In his case, it's worth questioning if he'll be able to take over the WR3 role. Jalen Tolbert, the Cowboys current WR3, has not made an impact this year. And all these situations beg the question -- should you pickup Bech, Thornton, or Flournoy for Week 10? Let's dive i.

Jack Bech Week 10 Waiver Wire Pickups
Rostered: 6% of Leagues

It's worth stashing Bech in very deep leagues right now. So far this season, he hasn't had much of a role, but he was a second-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Las Vegas' offense is pretty much a joke right now -- only tight end Brock Bowers and running back Ashton Jeanty have found much success.
Meanwhile, aside from a couple of games, quarterback Geno Smith has been one of the worst signal-callers in the NFL. Before his four-touchdown game against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 9, he had thrown for seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions. On the season, he ranks near the bottom of the league in passer rating.

Bech has put some good things on tape, but he's hardly gotten any playing time. The Raiders offensive coaching staff have made some head-scratching decisions, including forcing a 33-year-old Tyler Lockett onto the field and giving him the starting nod over Bech, for example.
That's complete nonsense. Bech remains a very deep league stash and a dynasty asset for now, but not much more.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. Week 10 Waiver Wire Pickups
Rostered: 7% of Leagues
Baller Move: Don't Add
After a few games of pretty significant action in the first few weeks of the season, Thornton was benched. There were a few deep routes in which he quickly separated from defensive coverage, but his overall struggles with making contested catches and inability to run a diverse route tree likely led to this.
He has one of the most ridiculous athletic profiles of any WR in the NFL. He's 6-foot-5 and ran a 4.30-second 40-yard dash, putting him in rarefied athletic air with players like Calvin Johnson and Randy Moss. But that's most of the upside he brings to the game.
Dont'e Thornton feels primed to explode. On Go routes this season, Thornton ranks:
-1st in Average Separation Score (0.545)
-1st in Route Win Rate (45.5%)
He would have an 86-yard TD and a 59-yard TD by now if Geno hit him in stride. See for yourself below.

But ball-tracking, play strength, body adjustment, and good hands are needed to make catches when the throw isn't perfectly accurate or when coverage is tight. We haven't seen much of any of those things from Thornton this year. He's looked more like a track athlete than anything.
It's been a bad start to his career so far, but he has shown promise on deep routes. The problem is that he was underthrown numerous times by his quarterback, Geno Smith. It's not like the Raiders can just go out and get another starting quarterback this year.
For now, Thornton is an intriguing dynasty stash. It seems unlikely that he'll get a ton of opportunity this year unless Smith can get on the same page as him.
Ryan Flournoy Week 10 Waiver Wire Pickups
Rostered: 2% of Leagues
Baller Move: Don't Add
Flournoy doesn't have much chance of doing anything this season because he's playing behind wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens and tight end Jake Ferguson. At least it looks like Flournoy has been firmly established as the WR3. He's seen two straight weeks of increasing snap counts.
It makes sense for Dallas to hyper-target both Lamb and Pickens. Ferguson, not so much, but they do it anyway, and that leaves very little volume available for the other receivers. Flournoy doesn't make much sense to add unless Lamb and Pickens both get hurt and have to miss time.

Tolbert, meanwhile, has effectively been benched. Still, the WR3 and fourth-best pass-catcher on a team usually isn't fantasy relevant without injuries pushing him up the depth chart.
