Robert Suarez Earns League-Leading 23rd Save
Robert Suarez worked into and out of trouble Saturday to pick up his league-best 23rd save in a 6-4 win over the Cincinnati Reds. Suarez put two runners on with walks, but he retired the other three hitters he faced in a 22-pitch ninth inning. The hard-throwing 34-year-old logged two strikeouts, including a punchout of Spencer Steer to end the game. Suarez lowered his ERA to 3.41 with a 0.96 WHIP and 36:11 K:BB over 34 1/3 innings. Along the way, Suarez has blown just two of his 25 save attempts - good for a 92% success rate.
