4 years agoLos Angeles Angels catcher Max Stassi (hip) is in line to be the team's primary catcher in 2021 but will be brought along slowly in spring training after having left hip surgery. The Angels signed veteran Kurt Suzuki to back up Stassi as the team takes it slow with his recovery. In 31 games last season, Stassi produced a solid .278 average with 20 runs batted in. If he can stay healthy, this season will be his first opportunity to see major playing time. Whether his promising performance last season can be stretched out for a full season will be worth monitoring, but he will get every opportunity to be the full-time catcher for the Angels in 2021.--Joey C - RotoBaller
