The San Francisco 49ers released wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling (calf) on Saturday. The veteran wideout signed with the Niners in August. However, he wasn't relevant from a fantasy standpoint, catching only four of his eight targets for 22 yards in five appearances before being placed on the Injured Reserve list because of a calf injury. It's unknown what the future holds for MVS, considering he's closing in on a decade of service in the National Football League. Still, even if he signs with a team before the end of the 2025 campaign, he has a long way to go before earning a place on fantasy rosters.--Dennis Clausen
