Dolphins Place Franchise Tag On Jarvis Landry
Jarvis Landry on Tuesday. Despite reports in the last year that Miami was likely to move on from Landry, the team will at least pay him $16 million this season on the non-exclusive tag, meaning he'll be able to negotiate with other teams, but he'd cost an outside team two first-round picks to sign him. Miami placing the tag on Landry may signal that the two sides are close to a long-term extension. The Dolphins may have had a change of heart after Landry led the NFL with 112 catches, although he averaged a measly 8.8 yards per catch. A career-high nine touchdowns made up for that, though. If Landry is signed to a long-term deal, that signals bad news for DeVante Parker, who had a disappointing 2017 season. Landry is a low-end WR1 in PPR leagues, although matching his nine touchdowns in 2018 will be hard to do.
