Cole Miller Reinstated, Assigned to Single-A Stockton
Cole Miller (elbow) has been activated from the 60-day injured list and assigned to Single-A Stockton. The 2023 fourth-round draft pick has yet to appear in a professional regular-season game after it was determined he would need Tommy John surgery before the 2024 season began. Now fully recovered, the righty recently finished up a four-game rehab assignment with the team's Arizona Complex League affiliate, posting a 3.09 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, and a 12.2 percent K-BB% across 11 2/3 innings pitched. The 6-foot-6 hurler features a mid-90s fastball that is paired with a solid slider and changeup. With his big frame and still only 20 years old, it will be interesting to see how the Athletics' 14th-ranked prospect fares in his first real taste of professional baseball, but he is surely a couple of years away from the majors.
