Jaylen Waddle fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 9 (2024). Should you start or sit Jaylen Waddle for fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Start in 12+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR27
ANALYSIS: Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle is the WR66 for the year, averaging 6.4 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. However, the star wide receiver was held back by the team’s injuries at quarterback. He had 13.7 fantasy points in Week 1, with Tua Tagovailoa healthy. By comparison, Waddle has scored 6.6 or fewer in every other game this season.
Unfortunately, the star wide receiver’s role on offense hasn’t been ideal. Waddle has more than six targets in only one game this year. Furthermore, De'Von Achane has a higher target share than Waddle, with Tagovailoa under center (18.4% vs. 13.2%).
Miami target shares in games Tua Tagovailoa has started:
Tyreek Hill - 22.8%
De'Von Achane - 18.4%
Jaylen Waddle - 13.2%Achane scored from the slot yesterday. Forget Miami's WR3 - he's the WR2. https://t.co/s3dleVbQPm

Yet, the veteran wide receiver is one of the more talented pass catchers in the NFL. Waddle can score double-digit fantasy points with limited touches. While he faces an elite Buffalo Bills pass defense this week, fantasy players can start Waddle as a low-end WR2 or high-end WR3.
