Starting Pitcher Rankings Analysis for Week 10
-Gerrit Cole has needed just two starts to look like his pre-injury self. Cole has thrown 12 2/3 scoreless innings with 12 strikeouts in his first two outings back from Tommy John surgery. In his most recent start, the Yankees right-hander tossed 6 2/3 shutout innings with 10 strikeouts against the Royals. He moves up 17 spots in Nick's rankings and is now a top-25 pitcher for the rest of the season.

-Braxton Ashcraft continues to display his potential on the mound. After throwing six innings of two-run ball with a career-high 11 strikeouts against the Twins on Sunday, he lowered his ERA to 2.77 on the season. Ashcraft finished May with a 1.99 ERA across six starts and currently ranks in the 95th percentile in chase rate (36.8%). He's a big riser this week.
-Kyle Harrison has no doubt benefited from the Brewers' pitching lab. The southpaw has a 1.57 ERA in his first 11 starts and just threw 5 2/3 innings of one-run ball with 12 strikeouts against the Giants on Tuesday. Those 12 strikeouts mark the second time in his last three outings that he has struck double-digit batters in a game. With an elite 29.6% strikeout rate on the year, Harrison breaks into the top-25 on Nick's rankings.

-Framber Valdez is trending down following another poor outing. Valdez allowed four earned runs for the third time in his last five starts, and his metrics are down across the board this season. His whiff rate (21.6%), strikeout rate (18.3%), and expected ERA (4.37) all rank in the bottom of the half of the league. That has him as a faller in these rest-of-season rankings.
-Payton Tolle continues to rise up Nick's rankings each week. He now moves up to the No. 26 spot after finishing the month of May with a 2.35 ERA and a 26.1% strikeout rate. Tolle has an impressive 2.21 expected ERA, a .183 expected batting average against, a 28.6% strikeout rate, and a 33% chase rate across his first seven starts this season.
-George Kirby has had a few weird outings in a row. He allowed six runs across 5 2/3 innings on May 17, gave up five runs (three earned runs) across six innings on May 23, and allowed four more runs across 5 1/3 innings in his most recent start. It's only right that he moves down in these rankings, especially since Kirby also owns a below-average whiff rate (20.7%) and strikeout rate (19.7%).
-Shota Imanaga has been troubled by the long ball in his last few starts. He has allowed eight combined home runs in his last three outings and has given up 20 earned runs in his last 15 2/3 innings pitched (11.49 ERA). This rough stretch has dropped him down another seven spots in this week's rankings and outside the top-25 for the first time in a few weeks.
-Freddy Peralta is not nearly the same pitcher he was last year. You know, the same pitcher who finished with a career-best 2.70 ERA and a top-5 finish in the National League Cy Young voting. This season, Peralta's whiff rate (27%), strikeout rate (23.9%), and hard-hit rate (39.6%) are all down. The 29-year-old hasn't quite been that All-Star-caliber pitcher on the mound in 2026.
-Jared Jones makes his first appearance in these set of rankings this week after making his season debut last week. Although Jones struggled in his first start back from elbow surgery (five earned runs across 4 1/3 innings), he projects well the rest of the year. He had a 35.7% whiff rate and a 45% chase rate in his season debut and carried a solid 26.2% strikeout rate in his rookie campaign in 2024.

-Bryce Miller has looked good in both the starter role and the bulk reliever role for the Mariners this season. He has a 1.71 ERA and 20 strikeouts across 21 innings pitched and has not allowed more than two runs in any of his four outings so far. His 1.93 expected ERA, 36.2% chase rate, 3.8% walk rate, and 25% hard-hit rate are why Miller finds himself up to the No. 41 spot in Week 10.
-Roki Sasaki is starting to turn things around on the mound. He had a 3.18 ERA and 28 strikeouts across five starts in May and has given up two earned runs or fewer in each of his last three starts. Sasaki is still a work in progress, but his recent numbers should give fantasy managers some confidence in him moving forward. He's the second-biggest riser in Nick's rankings this week (+18).
-Noah Cameron is the biggest riser in Nick's rankings this week. The southpaw has thrown the ball really well recently, which included throwing seven innings of one-run ball with eight strikeouts against the Reds on Tuesday. Cameron has now struck out eight batters in two of his last three starts. He moves up 19 spots and is up to No. 73 overall.
-Joey Cantillo was once a sneaky pitcher to own in all fantasy leagues. But now, he's become an inconsistent fantasy option. He has allowed at least four runs in three of his last four starts and has a 4.83 ERA since the beginning of May. His high walk rate (12.7%) and low strikeout rate (21.2%) are massive concerns moving forward as well.
