Early 2022 Fantasy Baseball Rankings - Points Leagues and H2H Points Formats

corbin burnes fantasy baseball rankings MLB news sleepers DFS lineup picks

Our early 2022 fantasy baseball rankings for points leagues and H2H points scoring. Our team's MLB tiered rankings include C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF, SP, RP, DH.

Welcome RotoBallers to our early 2022 fantasy baseball points league rankings for points leagues and head-to-head (H2H) points leagues. We couldn't be more excited to be putting out various fantasy baseball rankings and fantasy baseball articles for the 2022 season -- it's always an exciting time of year. In general, points leagues and H2H points formats are extremely underserved by the fantasy baseball community and fantasy baseball outlets. But in case you weren't aware, here at RotoBaller we really take pride in and specialize in points leagues. All through the preseason and MLB season, we'll be publishing rankings, tools and analysis articles all geared for fantasy baseball points and H2H points leagues.

In this article below, we will be taking a look at our early overall rankings list put together by RotoBaller's lead fantasy baseball points analyst Nicklaus Gaut. Below you'll see his early fantasy baseball ranks for 2022, which will of course be updated regularly through opening day in our main 2022 fantasy baseball rankings dashboard. Be sure to bookmark that page, and to download our free fantasy baseball mobile app so you can stay on top of all the MLB news and analysis articles.

Before we get to the rankings themselves, let's quickly review points leagues and how they are different than other formats. Typically, points leagues have different league settings and scoring formats than other fantasy baseball leagues. Different MLB stats and categories are assigned different point values, and those can vary by individual league settings. Those different point buckets are then added up over the course of a scoring period or season. In many cases, hitters who walk more and strikeout less are preferred for points leagues. Also, many league formats tend to give more weight to pitchers than normal as they can easily accrue points through categories like Innings Pitched. These are the general frameworks that we use for our points league rankings below, and explain why they look different than more standard 5x5 roto fantasy baseball rankings.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:
