DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (9/6/21): MLB DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 9/6/21. Euan Leith's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

Happy Monday and happy Labor Day, Rotoballers! We will keep today’s article short and sweet so we can all enjoy the unofficial end of summer. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t sit back with someday baseball and profit with some DFS action.

Eight games populate the featured slate on DraftKings, and there are plenty of heavy hitters to choose between. I’ll highlight my favorites below, but I’m certainly not shying away from rostering two of the higher-priced arms and finding the value bats.

This article will provide you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 9/6/2021. The lineup will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also check out today's FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks and read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports too. It’s also important to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups. If you have any questions or comments, find me on Twitter and ask away.

DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers

Brandon Woodruff - P, MIL vs. PHI ($9,600)

He's backkkkk. After a dismal stretch where he scored less than 12 points in three of four starts, Woodruff has steadied the ship and come through for us in massive spots. On Aug. 25, he provided 34.5 fantasy points with 10 strikeouts in six innings against the Reds. Then, as an encore, he dominated the Giants allowing 1 earned run in six innings with eight strikeouts for 26.7 fantasy points. There are more expensive arms on the slate, but none who I trust more than Woodruff today.

Tarik Skubal - P, DET at PIT ($7,800)

In a four-game stretch from Aug. 5-Aug 25, Tarik Skubal averaged 22.8 fantasy points per game. He sported a 3.03 FIP with a 30 percent strikeout rate. Unfortunately, it all came undone against the Oakland A's in his last start as he allowed seven hits, six earned runs, three walks, and two home runs. Nevertheless, I believe he's closer to the 22.8 FPPG pitcher than the one we saw in his previous start. And, while the Pirates haven't been the attack-at-all-costs team their roster looks like it should be, I think Sklubal can get the job done and be a suitable SP2 arm on the eight-game schedule.

DraftKings DFS Infielders

Salvador Perez - C, KC at BAL ($6,000)

Salvador Perez had himself a weekend to open up September. Now, he’s going to cost you a pretty penny to get in the lineup, but I’m not sure if there’s a more sure-fire option at the position. In three weekend games, Perez went 5-for-10 with three home runs, five runs, and eight RBI. He will get to visit hitter-friendly Camden Yards today as he attempts to keep the good times rolling.

Frank Schwindel - 1B, CHC vs. CIN ($3,300)

If you forgot about the Cubs after their mass exodus at the trade deadline, you’ve missed one of the breakout stars in the second half of the season. Over his last seven games, Cub's first baseman Frank Schwindel has crushed six home runs, knocked in 13 RBI, and crossed home plate eight times. He has one hit in 12 of his last 15 contests and multi-hit efforts in six of those 15.

Jonathan India - 2B, CIN at CHC ($4,400)

Eugenio Suarez - 3B, CIN at CHC ($3,900)

It’s not the perfect Reds stack, but both these hitters are in fine form for a date at Wrigley Field. In August, India was showing signs of the rookie wall but came back with a vengeance over the weekend. The rookie collected six hits, a homer, two doubles, three runs, and two RBI. He's the leadoff man for a Reds team in the thick of a playoff spot, and I'm going to keep the hope alive he's plowing through the rookie wall.

Suarez is falling from grace in 2021 but can still be a positive player in our lineups for September. Last week, he made four starts and was hitting fifth on three occasions. The righty-slugger averaged 15 FPPG in those three games, and they were all against a lefty. I expected similar results against Justin Steele in the friendly confines of Wrigley.

Adalberto Mondesi - SS, KC at BAL ($4,800)

Mondesi is going to do it to us again. The perennial September breakout is teasing season-long managers to draft him highly, once again, come to 2022 draft season. Since rejoining the Royals, Mondesi is 4-for-13 with four runs, a home run, three RBI, and four stolen bases. He can contribute to your DFS roster in so many different ways, and it’s how he is averaging 17.6 fantasy points per game since his return.

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

Hunter Renfroe - OF, BOS vs. TB ($4,600)

REVENGE GAME NARRATIVE! While it's not the first time Renfroe faces his former team, it must always feel strange to play against them. Regardless, the Rays could use their former outfielder with the form he is in. Renfroe has bagged five multi-hit games in his last eight games and added four home runs, nine RBI, and eight runs while averaging 12.3 FPPG. Three of those games came against the Rays, and I'm sure Renfroe wouldn't mind racking up a few more fantasy points on Labor Day.

Josh Bell - 1B/OF, WAS vs. NYM ($4,400)

Admittedly, I've always had a soft spot for Josh Bell. So when he's playing well, I'm usually going to slot him in my lineup. The switch-hitter has five games with at least 10 points in his last 15 contests. Of course, there are superior hitters on the board in these eight games, but Bell at $4,400 is intriguing. He's collected a hit in 13 of his last 15 games, and when he's running hot, he's always an option for my lineups.

Robbie Grossman - OF, DET at PIT ($4,100)

Robbie Grossman and I are having a love-hate relationship in 2021. While I've rostered him in multiple season-long leagues, he falters every time I recommend him in DFS. But today is a holiday, and I'm in a good mood, so let's give Grossman another chance. He scored at least five points in 10 of his previous 12 games, along with outings of 16, 17, and 18 points. The outfielder has two home runs and two doubles in his last seven games, and while Pittsburgh is a big ballpark, his spot as the three-hole hitter will give him plenty of chances for fantasy points on Monday.
