Darnell Mooney Week 10Waiver Wire Pickups

Rostered: 34% of Leagues

Baller Move: Drop in 10-team leagues; add in 12+ team standard leagues

After spending four years with the Bears, Mooney flew south to join the Dirty Birds before last season. He played in 16 games and racked up 64 catches for 992 yards and five touchdowns. This year, though, he has struggled due to some injury issues and other options getting priority from first-year starter Michael Penix Jr.

Mooney has 12 catches in his six games this season for 173 yards and no touchdowns. His best game of the season was three catches for 68 yards in a loss to the 49ers, and even with Drake London out, he managed just one catch for 11 yards agaisnt the Dolphins in Week 8. In Week 9 with Penix and London back healthy against the Patriots, Mooney only had two targets and one catch for 15 yards.

He has only a single catch in three of his last four games and doesn't seem to be a priority with Bijan Robinson and Kyle Pitts Sr. catching most of the short passes and Drake London as the true WR1.

However, Mooney still brings big-play vertical ability that gives him boom-or-bust upside, if he starts getting more targets.

He has the speed and elusiveness to put together huge games, but he has a very low floor since he isn't getting enough volume to be a regular starter at this point in fantasy football. The potential is there, but the workload has to start flowing his way before he's a top option.

Parker Washington Week 10 Waiver Wire Pickups

Rostered: 18% of Leagues

Baller Move: Priority Add in All Leagues

One potential wide receiver pickup who should have no problem getting volume is Parker Washington. Washington is one of the last Jaguars receivers standing after Travis Hunter (knee) landed on IR, Brian Thomas Jr. (ankle) left last week with a potential high ankle sprain, and Dyami Brown (concussion)  left early as well. With so many injuries in just a few days, the Jags went out and added Jakobi Meyers in a trade from the Raiders before the NFL Trade Deadline.

Even with Meyers in the mix, Washington should be set for a very large workload. The third-year receiver from Penn State was already establishing a solid connection with Trevor Lawrence before all the injuries and eight catches on 17 targets in the three weeks right before the team's bye week. One of those connections was for this tough touchdown against the Chiefs.

When the Jaguars came back from their bye and started losing players to injury, Washington stepped up and led the team with eight catches on nine targets for 90 yards in their overtime win over the Raiders.

Meyers arrival does make things a little murkier, but I still love Washington's upside, especially in the short term if Thomas and Brown are out. Meyers will actually help draw defensive attention back to the outside, leaving more work over the middle for Washington. He may not get a chance to be the No. 1 receiver in Jacksonville like some people were hoping, but he still should get plenty of work in the next few weeks and be a solid flex or WR3 play.

The Jags have two tough receiver matchups against the Texans and Chargers, before more favorable matchups against the Cardinals, Titans, and Colts. Washington's also past his bye week, which is one less thing to plan around if you snag him off the waiver wire.

DeMario Douglas Week 10 Waiver Wire Pickups

Rostered: 4% of Leagues

Baller Move: Add in standard leagues if Boutte is out

The Patriots' offense has been firing on all cylinders with Drake Maye taking huge steps forward under offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels this season. Maye has done a good job spreading the ball around, using top receiver Stefon Diggs, deep threat Kayshon Boutte, slot receiver DeMario Douglas, and tight end Hunter Henry in different spots when matchups tilted one way or the other.

In Week 9, though, Boutte had to leave the game with a hamstring injury and is day-to-day, according to coach Mike Vrabel. With Boutte out, Douglas got some extra looks and turned them into his first career game with 100 receiving yards.

He totaled a season-high four catches on six targets and posted a career-high with exactly 100 receiving yards and a key touchdown in the Patriots' one-point win. He also hauled in this long pass while almost getting a second score:

While he didn't get into the end zone, it was the longest reception of his career and the longest pass of Maye's career as well. Douglas flashed big-play potential like that earlier this season as well, but he's hard to regularly count on since the targets have been inconsistent in the balanced attack.

If Boutte is out, Douglas can be a short-term fix against the Bucs in Week 10. He faces the depleted Jets in Week 11, the Bengals in Week 12, and the Jets again in Week 13 before a Week 14 bye week. The schedule is favorable, and he can be a boom-or-bust flex play if Boutte is out for any or all of those contests.
