MLB DFS Picks Today: Daily Fantasy Baseball Strategy and Tips For FanDuel, DraftKings (7/20/25)

Kyle Schwarber - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Andy's top DraftKings and FanDuel MLB DFS picks for today, Sunday, 7/20/25. His favorite daily fantasy baseball lineup sleepers and value picks for DFS on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Welcome Back, Rotoballers! With the All-Star break in the rearview mirror, the second half is officially underway. Today, we have a typically busy Sunday slate, which means we have ample stacks and pitchers to target.

On the pitching side, Boston ace Garrett Crochet will toe the rubber against the Cubs, while the Atlanta Braves have a prime matchup to light up the scoresheet. The DraftKings main slate features eight games, while the FanDuel slate features the same eight games with an additional four later games. However, we will only emphasize the games that are playable on both platforms' main slate.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 7/20/2025, with the slate starting at 1:35 PM EST. The lineup picks will showcase elite players, mid-priced options, and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is always essential.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Note - all advanced metrics referenced are from July 1 and on

Garrett Crochet, SP - BOS ($10.4K DK/$10.3K FD)

Even though he has a tougher matchup, it is hard not to consider Crochet. Crochet is coming off a complete game shutout against the Tampa Bay Rays, where he allowed just three hits, no walks, with nine strikeouts.

Despite facing a potent Cubs lineup, given his strikeout upside alone, he should be viewed as a top play.

Nick Pivetta, SP - SD ($10.1K DK/$9.8K FD)

Nick Pivetta enjoyed a dominant first half with San Diego and is in a great spot to keep rolling against the Washington Nationals. Since the start of the month, the Nationals have posted the 15th-highest strikeout rate with the ninth-lowest walk rate.

Over the last 25 1/3 innings, the right-hander has struck out 31 hitters while allowing just five walks and one earned run.

Gavin Williams, SP - CLE ($7.1K DK/$8.2K FD)

My final pitcher comes with much more risk, but could pay off in a downloadable math cup. Williams has been tough to trust at times, but when he is commanding his pitches, he has shown flashes of dominance. Today, he will face the Athletics, who have posted the highest strikeout rate this month and the 10th-lowest walk rate.

Despite coming off a rough outing against the White Sox, consider saving some salary and targeting the high-risk, high-upside play.

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Note - all advanced metrics referenced are from July 1 and on

Ozzie Albies, 2B - ATL ($3.4K DK/$2.7K FD)

The switch-hitting second baseman has had a very disappointing campaign by his standards, but has begun to show signs of life. On Friday, he went deep and over his last nine games entering Saturday, Albies has tallied at least one hit in all but two games.

This afternoon, he will face New York right-hander Marcus Stroman, who enters this game with a hefty 5.61 xERA. His primary pitch, the sinker, has posted a .361 xwOBA in July. When facing four-seamers from right-handed pitching, Albies has generated an elite .462 xwOBA.

Jazz Chisholm Jr., 2B/3B - NYY ($5.4K DK/$3.7K FD)

Despite his disappointing showing in the Home Run Derby, Chisholm has enjoyed a strong first full season in the Bronx. Over his last 14 games entering Saturday, the utility infielder has posted a strong .280/.390/.640 line with three doubles, five home runs, and a 12:9 K: BB.

This afternoon, he will face four-seamer-heavy right-hander Grant Holmes. When facing four-seamers from right-handed pitching, Chisholm has generated an elite .598 xwOBA, which is the highest mark on the team. Holmes has delivered this pitch just under 30% of the time in July.

Otto Kemp, 1B/OF on DK, 1B/3B/OF on FD - PHI ($3.2K DK/$2.5K FD)

My final outfielder to highlight is Otto Kemp. Kemp has a prime matchup against sinker-heavy Jose Soriano. When facing sinkers from right-handed pitching, Kemp has generated an eye-catching 1.558 xSLG with a .928 xwOBA.

Even though he has struggled during his first 27 MLB games, he has a great matchup to get back on track this afternoon.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Note - all advanced metrics referenced are from July 1 and on

Tommy Pham, OF - PIT ($2.5K DK/$2.7K FD)

My first outfielder to consider is a great value play in Tommy Pham. Pham enters this game swinging a very hot bat, holding a .346/.393/.604 line with two doubles and two home runs over his last five games.

Facing Aaron Civale, who has allowed nine runs in his last two games, should put Pham in a prime position to stay hot in the batter's box.

Kyle Schwarber, OF - PHI ($5.8K DK/$4.2K FD)

Kyle Schwarber should be viewed as your top outfielder this afternoon. Facing sinker-heavy right-hander Soriano, Schwarber is in an elite spot to go deep. When facing sinkers from righties, Schwarber has generated a remarkable .841 xSLG with a .573 xwOBA.

In addition, he enters this game swinging a smoking hot bat. Over his last nine games entering Saturday, the slugger has launched five home runs while holding a .235/.366/.735 slash line. Start him with confidence.

Ronald Acuna Jr., OF -  ATL ($6.2K DK/$4.1K FD)

Like his teammate Albies, Acuna is in a prime position to find success facing Stroman. When facing sinkers from righties, the former 2023 NL MVP has generated a hefty .428 xwOBA with a .716 xSLG.

In his last six contests entering Saturday, Acuna has posted an .880 SLG with a 1.273 OPS and three round-trippers. He is worth paying up for in this prime matchup.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

Note - all advanced metrics referenced are from July 1 and on

1. Atlanta Braves vs. Marcus Stroman

Stroman enters this contest holding a hefty 6.66 ERA and a 1.64 WHIP. Through 24 1/3 innings of work this season, the right-hander has struck out just 15 hitters and allowed walks at a high 10.7% rate.

As noted above, his primary pitch, the sinker, has not yet found much success; he continues to throw it just under 40.0% of the time. In July, this pitch has generated a .486 xSLG with a .361 xwOBa. Stack the Braves with confidence.

Favorite Combo: Albies, Acuna, Murphy, Olson

2. Philadelphia Phillies vs. Jose Soriano

While Soriano has found success at times this season, he has had to maintain too much consistency. In his most recent outing, he tossed five innings of one-run ball against the Diamondbacks. However, in his prior start, he served up five runs to the Rangers.

Overall, he sits with a modest .405 xERA (41st percentile) and a .258 xBA (34th percentile). His primary pitch, the sinker (deployed 50.7% of the time in July), has generated a .473 xSLG with a .397 xwOBA.

Favorite Combo: Schwarber, Harper, Kemp

3. Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Aaron Civale

The final stack to consider is the Pittsburgh Pirates. This stack comes with more risk given their modest offense, but they could be an intriguing contrarian play. Civale enters this game sitting with a 16th percentile xERA and a 38th percentile xBA. In his last two outings, he has allowed nine runs and 10 hits over 9 2/3 innings.

His primary pitch, his cutter (deployed 37.0% of the time in July), has posted a .355 xwOBA this month.

Favorite Combo: Cruz, Gonzales, Pham, Horwitz
