CFB DFS Rankings - Daily Fantasy College Football Rankings for Week 8 (Saturday 10/22)

Sean Tucker - CFB DFS Lineup Picks, Daily Fantasy College Football, NFL Draft Rookie

Brad's CFB DFS rankings for Week 8 on 10/22/22. His daily fantasy college football rankings for QBs, RBs and WRs and the DFS slates on DraftKings and FanDuel.

As we are into the thick of conference play, there will be some well known options on this slate, while also introducing some lesser known teams to the main slate. Teams like UNLV, Tulane and Boston College are teams we often see on weekday or late slates, but could be big value spots on the main slate.

We will also want to look at potential stacking options, because as we saw last week in the Alabama vs Tennessee game, one game can take you from the middle of the pack straight up to the top in a GPP. Clemson vs Syracuse and UCLA vs Oregon stand out, but keep an West Virginia and Texas Tech as that could provide plenty of fireworks.

In this article below, you will find my CFB DFS lineup picks for Week 8 (Saturday, October 22nd) via my positional college football rankings. Use these CFB DFS rankings when building daily fantasy college football on DraftKings, and be sure to read the rest of our CFB DFS articles and CFB betting articles as well. Good luck RotoBallers!

CFB DFS Quarterback Rankings

QB GPP Rankings  Per $ QB Cash Rankings  Per $
1 Quinn Ewers 1 Spencer Sanders
2 Bo Nix 2 DJ Uiagalelei
3 DJ Uiagalelei 3 Garrett Shrader
4 Sam Hartman 4 Bo Nix
5 D. Thompson-Robinson 5 Sam Hartman
6 Spencer Sanders 6 C.J. Stroud
7 Jason Bean 7 D. Thompson-Robinson
8 Garrett Shrader 8 Quinn Ewers
9 Jayden Daniels 9 Drew Pyne
10 Jaxson Dart 10 Jaxson Dart

There are several viable cash games options at quarterback this week, led by Sanders and Uiagalelei who continue to be rock solid. If you want to spend up at running back in cash games, Quinn Ewers is too cheap and Drew Pyne is near the minimum is a plus match-up.

The GPP list is fairly similar to the cash game list, but there are some nice upside options in Dorian Thompson-Robinson and Bo Nix in what could be the shootout of the weekend in the Pac-12. Also don’t sleep on a potential shootout between Clemson and a very good Syracuse team.

Just one more note on quarterback, I have no listed any of the Texas Tech quarterbacks as their status’ all remain up in the air. If one of Tyler Shough, Donovan Smith or Behern Morton are named starter they are GPP viable due to the Zach Kittely offensive scheme, but beware, all could be replaced or platooned during the game.

CFB DFS Running Back Rankings

RB GPP Rankings  Per $ RB Cash Rankings  Per $
1 Zach Charbonnet 1 Braelon Allen
2 Braelon Allen 2 Bijan Robinson
3 Casey Filkins 3 Quinshon Judkins
4 Tyjae Spears 4 Zach Charbonnet
5 Bijan Robinson 5 Will Shipley
6 Xazavian Valladay 6 Devin Mockobee
7 Audric Estime 7 Tyjae Spears
8 Charles McClelland 8 Xazavian Valladay
9 CJ Donaldson 9 Sean Tucker
10 Dominic Richardson 10 Casey Filkins

Probably the safest cash game group of the three this week, running back has stalwarts like Allen, Robinson and Charbonnet who are work horses on their teams in good match-ups. It will be interesting to see how lesser-known players like Tyjae Spears and Casey Filkins fit in amongst the more well-known teams.

GPP’s should also be a fun variety this week as there are ton of smash spots for work share running backs. Audric Estime had a poor showing against Stanford, but this week Notre Dame gets a poor UNLV defense where the Irish could get back on track. Also be sure to track CJ Donaldson, the do-it-all player on West Virginia looks likely to return from injury this week and put up a couple monster performances early on.

CFB DFS Wide Receiver Rankings

WR GPP Rankings  Per $ WR Cash Rankings  Per $
1 Jordan Kerley 1 Xavier Worthy
2 Bryce Ford-Wheaton 2 Michael Mayer
3 Oronde Gadsden 3 A.T. Perry
4 Xavier Worthy 4 Emeka Egbuka
5 Zay Flowers 5 Jake Bobo
6 Kayshon Boutte 6 Jordan Kerley
7 A.T. Perry 7 Oronde Gadsden
8 Michael Mayer 8 Zay Flowers
9 Rashee Rice 9 Kayshon Boutte
10 Monaray Baldwin 10 Chimere Dike

For one reason or another, the DK algorithm just does not seem to like Xavier Worthy or Michael Mayer. They are without a doubt the easiest plug and plays in cash games, put them in and do not think twice about it.

On the GPP side, be sure to keep track of the SMU wide receiver news. Beau Corrales and Jake Bailey entered the year as two of the top three options, both have no been ruled out for the year. Furthermore, star Rashee Rice has missed a few practices this week, which is why Jordan Kerley sits atop the GPP rankings.
