Who Should I Start for Fantasy Football Week 13? Jakobi Meyers, Ameer Abdullah, Tre Tucker

Ameer Abdullah - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire

Who should I start for Week 13? Fantasy football outlooks for Jakobi Meyers, Ameer Abdullah, Tre Tucker. Our expert fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks.

The NFL's Black Friday "tradition" returns for a second season. The Raiders travel to Arrowhead to match up against the defending Super Bowl champions.

As Las Vegas head coach Antonio Pierce put it, "Let's call a spade a spade. Best team in football against the worst team in football. Let's change the narrative."

The Raiders may not be at the bottom of the power rankings, but there hasn't been a lot of fantasy success from the desert. Below we dive into whether fantasy managers should start or sit Jakobi Meyers, Tre Tucker, and Ameer Abdullah.

Should I Start Jakobi Meyers for Fantasy Football?

Jakobi Meyers is quietly putting together a respectable WR2 season through all of the troubles in Sin City. He's averaging 14.1 PPR points per game (WR21). That's more than Courtland Sutton, Zay Flowers, and Jayden Reed. In the last four weeks, his average (16.5) would make him a WR1.

The Kansas City Chiefs, the Raiders Week 13 opponent, own the best run defense in the NFL. Running the football will not be a fruitful endeavor. Las Vegas will be throwing. That's a plus for Meyers.

A negative is the quarterback change from Gardner Minshew II (collarbone) to Aidan O'Connell. The former established a connection with Meyers and has never been shy about slinging it. O'Connell doesn't have the same synergy and nothing-to-lose mentality as Minshew.

Meyers is a solid flex WR2/Flex candidate for Week 13.

Should I Start Tre Tucker for Fantasy Football?

Tre Tucker is a poor man's Alec Pierce. Once every blue moon, Tucker delivers a start-worthy stat line. There's no real rhyme or reason to it.

Tucker received some training camp buzz, came out flat to start the season, and then exploded for 96 yards and a touchdown in Week 3. There was no sustained success. Even with Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers off the field, Tucker failed as the Raiders top receiver. He registered zero and six PPR points in his two games atop the depth chart.

A matchup against Denver's outstanding pass defense makes Tucker's Week 12 stat line even more baffling. Granted, four of his seven catches and 55 of his 82 yards came in the final two minutes of a two-possession game. His college quarterback, Desmond Ridder, was throwing him the football.

Tucker can't be relied upon to catch a deep pass with Aidan O'Connell under center. He can be left on waiver wires in all but the deepest of leagues.

Should I Start Ameer Abdullah for Fantasy Football?

Week 12 was a near-perfect matchup given Abdullah's strengths, and it worked out in his favor (RB9 finish). While the Broncos are fairly stout against the run, the unit has allowed the third-most receptions and fifth-most receiving yards to running backs. That's not the case for the matchup against Kansas City.

The Chiefs give up the third-fewest receiving yards to the position and have yet to allow a running back to score through the air. That's on top of them being the best rush defense in the league.

Alexander Mattison (ankle) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice. If he's healthy on Friday, Abdullah returns to strictly a pass-catching role. In this matchup, there aren't any Raiders running backs worth starting.
