Week 10 fantasy football waiver wire pickups for Bhayshul Tuten, Dylan Sampson, Brashard Smith in 2025. Read their waiver wire outlooks for fantasy football.
Week 9 of the NFL season, unfortunately, brought another wave of injuries, but it also featured a surge in high-volume rushing performances. Five running backs had 25 or more carries in Week 9, matching the total number of such games from Weeks 1 through 8 combined.
In this article, we'll look at three rookie running backs whose roles have not been expanded yet, but still have intriguing upside: Jacksonville Jaguars Bhayshul Tuten, Cleveland Browns Dylan Sampson, and Kansas City Chiefs Brashard Smith.
So, should fantasy managers add Tuten, Sampson, and Smith in Week 10? Let's dive in.

Bhayshul Tuten Week 10 Waiver Wire Pickups
Rostered: 20.5% of ESPN Leagues
Baller Move: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
The role for Tuten did not expand out of their bye week in Week 9 against the Raiders, playing just 22.1% of the snaps and getting outsnapped by fellow rookie RB LeQuint Allen Jr. Tuten was able to earn two touches on the goal line and scored a short touchdown, but he hasn't played more than 28.4% of snaps in a game yet this season, with veteran Travis Etienne Jr. running effectively and deservedly holding down the lead role.
The fourth rounder out of Virginia Tech hasn't yet shown his dynamic rushing ability at the NFL level. Tuten is one of just two RBs with at least 40 carries on the season to not have an explosive run (15+ yards), along with Chuba Hubbard. Positively, Tuten has the lowest Stuff% (29.3%) out of 50 qualified running backs, per Fantasy Points Data Suite. His missed tackles forced (0.17) and yards after contact per attempt (2.51) are both solid marks, but we'd like to see more usage at this point in the season.

Tuten remains a contingency option behind Etienne for now. Allen is too involved for him to hold any standalone value. The 23-year-old will likely need an injury to emerge as a truly impactful fantasy option down the stretch. He's still worth adding and holding in 12-team leagues and deeper, but time is running out.
Dylan Sampson Week 10 Waiver Wire Pickups
Rostered: 11% of Leagues
Baller Move: Add in 12+ Team PPR Leagues
Sampson saw more snaps after Quinshon Judkins (shoulder) got banged up in Week 8 against the Patriots, playing 46.2% of snaps and handling three carries for zero yards while adding five catches (six targets) for 29 yards. It was his highest snap share since he operated as the starter all the way back in Week 1.
However, Judkins is reportedly back at practice on Wednesday, which likely sends Sampson back to a depth role. The 21-year-old does seem to have usurped veteran Jerome Ford on the depth chart, with him playing his two lowest snap shares of the season in the past two weeks. Sampson is a better option as a receiving back than Judkins, and with the Browns constantly playing from behind, he could have opportunities to catch plenty of dump-offs if the playing time sticks.
The fourth rounder out of Tennessee is a small back who has mightily struggled as a rusher this season, averaging just 1.8 yards per carry on 28 attempts. Sampson is better suited out on the edge and in space, where he can read things out more clearly. If Judkins were to miss any time, Sampson would likely split touches with Ford, which caps any possible upside, although it isn't very high to begin with because the Browns' offense is putrid. Sampson is worth adding for now in deeper leagues, while Judkins' status is monitored throughout the week.
Brashard Smith Week 10 Waiver Wire Pickups
Rostered: 10.7% of Leagues
Baller Move: Add in 12+ Team PPR Leagues
Smith didn't see a boost in snaps in Week 9 as a result of Isiah Pacheco (knee) being sidelined, playing just 17.5% of snaps compared to Kareem Hunt handling the load at 80.7%. Smith had only three carries for seven yards in the game, following up his three-carry, eight-yard performance in Week 8 against the Washington Commanders.
In the four games before Week 8, the seventh-round rookie out of SMU was getting a heavy dose of manufactured receptions to get him the ball in space. Smith caught 14 of his 16 receptions for 122 yards in Weeks 4 through 7. While his fantasy production came entirely through the air, he ranked fifth in receiving yards and tied for seventh in receptions among running backs during that stretch.
The 22-year-old isn't being used like a running back, but Andy Reid has shown an emphasis on using the speedster's skills in dynamic ways. Unfortunately, that usage hasn't been consistent, and now with star WR Rashee Rice back in the mix, it makes more sense to flow their offense through him while working the other pass catchers in accordingly.
“We’ve been able to give him a little bit more each week in different roles. We’re moving him all over the place. I wouldn’t see that part changing — we’re going to keep utilizing his talents.”

With the Chiefs on bye in Week 10 and Pacheco expected to return in Week 11, Smith isn't a must-roster player by any means, but it'd be intriguing to see if he gets a post-bye rookie bump in usage. The Chiefs didn't make a move for an RB at the deadline, so there's still a path for Smith to be a useful player in PPR leagues down the stretch.
