Sam Howell's fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 13 (2023). Our advice on whether you should start or sit Sam Howell for fantasy lineups.
BALLER MOVE: Start in 8+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: QB1
ANALYSIS: Washington Commanders quarterback Sam Howell has been a surprise fantasy star in his first full season. He is currently the QB4 in fantasy while averaging 19.2 fantasy points per game through 12 games. Howell has also finished as a top-10 fantasy quarterback in seven of the past eight games. With six teams on bye in Week 13, the young signal-caller is surely a must-start against the Miami Dolphins.
The Dolphins currently rank middle-of-the-pack against fantasy quarterbacks this year but are coming off a couple of nice outings. They have forced five interceptions over the past two weeks and seven over the past five games. Miami's secondary has also gotten healthier during that span with Jalen Ramsey and Xavien Howard both returning.
It'll be hard to bench Howell in fantasy this week, especially with the numbers he has put up this season. He currently leads the NFL with 3,339 passing yards and has thrown for at least 300 yards in four of the last five games. The Dolphins will score in this game, likely forcing the 23-year-old quarterback to throw a ton on Sunday. He's a strong start in all formats this weekend.
