Aleksander Barkov Injures Right Leg in Practice
Florida Panthers center Aleksander Barkov (leg) appeared to injure his right leg during Thursday's practice. Barkov needed assistance to leave the ice. Panthers head coach Paul Maurice told reporters after practice that Barkov is still being evaluated and more information will be available on Friday. The Panthers have already lost Matthew Tkachuk (groin) for the start of the season and could be without two top-six pieces if Barkov's injury is serious. Anton Lundell is the most likely candidate to move up in the lineup to replace Barkov, who has averaged at least a point per game in five consecutive seasons.
