Zach Neto Not Playing on Wednesday
Zach Neto (shoulder) is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's series finale against the visiting Boston Red Sox, but The Athletic's Sam Blum reports that he's listed as available. Neto said that he was getting an MRI exam on Wednesday on his surgically-repaired right shoulder after he reinjured it on a slide in Tuesday's extra-inning win. Scott Kingery is at the 6 on Wednesday and is batting ninth against Red Sox right-hander Richard Fitts. It's good news that the 24-year-old Neto is available to play, but it doesn't mean he will necessarily avoid a trip to the injured list. The former first-rounder is on pace for a 30-homer, 30-steal season, so losing him for any amount of time would be a tough break for the Halos and fantasy managers. For however long Neto is out, expect Kingery and Kevin Newman to split time at shortstop.
