Tyler Mahle to Make Triple-A Rehab Start on Sept. 2
Tyler Mahle (shoulder) faced hitters on Thursday and will make a rehab start with Triple-A Round Rock on Sept. 2, Shawn McFarland of the Dallas Morning News reports. While the plan is for Mahle to throw two innings in that game, the Rangers could ramp up his rehab process if he pitches well. Shoulder troubles have kept Mahle out of action since June 10, and with the season nearing an end, he may only have enough time to come back in a multi-inning role. Before he went on the IL, the 30-year-old made 14 starts and threw 77 innings - his most since 2022. Mahle has gone 6-3 with a 2.34 ERA (4.31 xERA), a 1.13 WHIP, and 56:27 K:BB this season.
