Roman Anthony Out Against a Lefty
Roman Anthony will head to the bench with a left-hander on the mound in Wednesday's series finale against the hosting Los Angeles Angels and southpaw Yusei Kikuchi. Left-handed-hitting second baseman David Hamilton will also take a seat. Wilyer Abreu is starting in right field and batting fifth, Rob Refsnyder is the designated hitter and batting leadoff, and rookie Marcelo Mayer is playing second base and hitting eighth against Kikuchi. Anthony is one of the top prospects in all of baseball this year and should play regularly for the BoSox the rest of the way, but he's gotten off to a slow start to his major-league career, going 5-for-44 (.114) with a homer, five RBI, five runs scored, a steal and 14 strikeouts in 54 plate appearances over 14 games. Refsnyder is hitting .462 with two RBI in 13 career at-bats against Kikuchi and is worth a look as a DFS sleeper.
