Mats Zuccarello Without Timeline for Return
Minnesota Wild right wing Mats Zuccarello (back) doesn't have a timeline for a return, Dylan Loucks of The Hockey News reports. Wild head coach John Hynes expects him to be "out for a while." The Norwegian veteran is battling a back injury ahead of his 16th NHL campaign. It seems increasingly unlikely that he will be healthy enough to play in next week's season opener against the St. Louis Blues on Oct. 9. In Zuccarello's absence, Liam Ohgren is expected to take on a larger role. The 21-year-old has recorded only seven points (three goals and four assists) in 24 NHL games, but he's shown off impressive scoring ability in the minors.
