Dylan Carlson Serving As DH On Monday
2 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals outfielder Dylan Carlson (arm) is serving as the designated hitter and is batting second in Monday's Grapefruit League game against the Houston Astros and right-handed starter Hunter Brown. Carlson is on a no-throw program through at least Monday after suffering from arm fatigue in spring training recently. The 24-year-old switch-hitter could be back patrolling the outfield in Grapefruit League games at some point this week, but the Cardinals won't push the issue. Although Carlson didn't deliver the breakout season many predicted in 2022, he should be an everyday player for the Cardinals in 2023 and has plenty of upside left for fantasy managers, but he'll need to be more consistent against left-handed pitching in order to take the next step.
