Brandon Woodruff Remains Shut Down
2 years agoMilwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Brandon Woodruff (shoulder) had an MRI exam in Arizona on Wednesday, according to manager Craig Counsell. Woodruff remains shut down until doctors can determine how to best proceed. The 30-year-old right-hander went on the injured list with right shoulder inflammation, but it sounds pretty serious, and fantasy managers shouldn't expect a quick return at this point. The two-time All-Star can operate as an ace for fantasy managers when he's healthy, so he needs to remain stashed in all leagues for now. In two starts before his injury, he allowed just one run on seven hits (one homer) while walking three and striking out 12 in 11 1/3 innings. Colin Rea has taken Woodruff's spot in Milwaukee's rotation and looked good against the Padres on Thursday.
