LCS DFS Picks for 7/31/21 - League of Legends Daily Fantasy for FanDuel & DraftKings

Nathan Van Hare's League of Leagues (LoL) analysis and LCS DFS lineup picks for FanDuel, DraftKings on 7/31/21. He discusses the LCS LoL slate and his top targets for cash games and GPPs.

Hey everyone, good morning/afternoon, and welcome to RotoBaller's coverage of League of Legends DFS for both FanDuel and DraftKings. Be on the lookout for coverage of the LPL, LCK, and LEC as well as we have some great analysts covering all LoL leagues for the Summer Split. Today, I'll be focusing on the 5-game LCS slate starting at 5 PM EST.

Yesterday was one of the weirdest slates of LCS I've played with a large portion of the games being incredibly low-scoring. Sadly for me, DIG chalk ended up being the nut stack and that crushed all of my lineups. We saw some of the worst drafts and worst gameplay of the split thus far and I wonder what triggered it.

Today I'll be bringing you my League of Legends advice and analysis for the five-game LCS slate that locks on Saturday, July 31st, at 5:00 PM. Thanks for reading, you can find me on Twitter @nvanhareDFS for more DFS related content!

LCS Matchups

  • Golden Guardians (+193) vs. 100 Thieves(-241)
  • Dignitas (+227) vs. Cloud9(-288)
  • Flyquest (+127) vs. Immortals (-154)
  • CounterLogic Gaming(+248) vs. Team SoloMid (-318)
  • Evil Geniuses (+111) vs. Liquid(-134)

Golden Guardians vs. 100 Thieves

Golden Guardians are probably the "bad" team in this league, or rather the one not in the top 4, that I have the most belief in. They play well as a team and have a good game strategy as well. The chemistry is there between them and they've shown the ability to knock off great teams.

Of course, 100 Thieves is the better team here, they're incredible relative to this league. In cash, I might use 100T as they're very likely to win, but in GPPs I likely tend to use GG here. They will most likely come in at very low ownership, they have great KPAR's when they win, and they're not massive underdogs. All signs point towards using them in GPP a great play long term.

Top GG Plays: Stixxay, Ablazeolive
Top 100T Plays: Closer, Abbedagge

Dignitas vs. Cloud9

I love me some Dignitas, but as long as Cloud9 fields this roster, no matter how many games they lose, I'm still believing in them. C9 is just a better team. This is the same team that took games off of DWG and other European/Asian teams. Dignitas is no comparison to them and while they do show great upside in Wins, I just don't see a realistic route to that win for them today.

I'm going to be using a ton of C9 in both cash and GPPs but likely as a small stack in GPP or paired with a major underdog.

Top C9 plays: Zven, Blaber
Top DIG plays: Neo, Akaadian

FlyQuest vs Immortals

Yesterday was insanely disappointing for me and the rest of the FQ supporters. All I want is to see them succeed in this league and they continuously mess it up. Yesterday they may have had the worst team comp I've seen in a while and just slowly gave the game away to their opponents. Truly it was sad to watch.

I still am a believer of them though and even more a believer of the effect they have on the game pace in their matches. This is one of my favorite games to stack. I'll be well over the field on both sides of this with a lean-to FQ as they are the underdog here and should see lower ownership than IMT.

Top FQ Plays: Josedeodo, Palafox
Top IMT Plays: Raes, Insanity

CounterLogic Gaming vs. TSM

As much as I love playing CLG, this isn't a spot I'm going to look too much into. TSM is an elite team in this league and their playstyle and lack of want to fight is going to hurt CLG's chances immensely. In addition, TSM is just better all-around than CLG.

TSM is a great cash game play for the small stack and team slot and CLG is an all-around fade for me.

Top CLG Plays: Broxah, Smoothie

Top TSM Plays: PowerOfEvil, Spica

Evil Geniuses vs. Liquid

This is another one of my favorite games to target on this slate. Given the odds being close and these two teams both being very good, I don't see either side getting too much ownership. I'm more interested in EG GPP stacks as they are both an underdog and they have a higher ceiling as a full-stack.

Liquid with Santorin and Alphari both in the lineup is very solid though so I don't hate the use of them in GPPs either! I will likely be over on this game as a whole.

Top EG plays: Danny, Impact
Top TL Plays: Alphari, Tactical

Summary

  1. FQ vs. IMT and EG vs. TL are my favorite GPP games to stack.
  2. C9 and TSM are my favorite cash stacks.
  3. The long shot gpp stack I like the most is Golden Guardians.
  4. I'm not one to make predictions but I'm going to have a fun 5 game parlay each week where I post my picks here in the summary. This slate I'm going with 100T, C9, FQ, TSM, EG! Good luck to all that are playing this weekend!
