BALLER MOVE: Target Around ~125 Overall
CURRENT ADP: ~179
ANALYSIS: If there is a player flying under the radar--and not just a little--that could give you a lot of value in the later rounds of the draft, that must be Hunter Renfrow. The Raiders brought in a number of pass-catching options this offseason, such as wideouts Bryan Edwards, Henry Ruggs III, and Nelson Agholor, but it's all of their first years in this new system. Meanwhile, Renfrow will be getting his second year in the system to build on a strong finish to the 2019 season: when all was said and done last year Renfrow had racked up 605 yards on 49 receptions including 4 TDs. His catch rate sat at 69% and he averaged a neat 12.4 YPR, not bad for a rookie playing under Derek Carr.
Renfrow is virtually going undrafted in redraft leagues these days with an ADP really close to 180, which means he's the last pick of 12-team league drafts. Obviously, that also means that he's being drafted behind teammates Tyrell Williams and Henry Ruggs. Given all we know about his abilities and fit with Carr, the truth is that both of them work nicely together last season. More on that, Renfrow finished the year on a tear: based on PPR points, he would have finished as WR10 if he had maintained the pace of his last-seven games (15.4 PPG) over a full season, which was basically Amari Cooper's level of play.
Renfrow isn't going to be a WR1 this year, don't get me wrong. Despite that, you'd be doing yourself a disservice by not targeting him as one of your late-round flier wideouts. He has the potential to be similar to Cole Beasley from the Buffalo Bills last year. He'll catch four to five passes for 50 yards every week, and he'll get some touchdowns. That's consistent production that you need on your roster, even more at his borderline-free price.
