DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (10/19/21): MLB DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 10/19/21. Mike Marteny's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

The number of days with more than one game going on in baseball is dwindling fast. We have Game 4 of the ALCS in Boston with the Sox up 2-1. We have Game 3 of the NLCS out west with the Braves taking both games in Atlanta before heading west.

It's going to be a nice afternoon for baseball in L.A. It will be a little chilly in Boston, but nothing that will affect the players. There will be a light breeze blowing out to right, so a wind-aided homer or two might happen.

This article will provide you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 10/19/2021. The lineup will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also check out today's FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks and read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports too. It’s also important to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups. If you have any questions or comments, contact me on Twitter.

DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers

Walker Buehler - LAD vs. ATL ($8,300)

Buehler hasn't been as sharp as you'd hope down the stretch, but with Boston throwing Nick Pivetta out there, we have to look somewhere. Buehler gave up four runs in 10.2 innings in his two starts in the NLDS against the Giants while only striking out nine. However, with teams looking more towards the bullpens to help decide baseball games, we have to take what we can get. Buehler gave up two runs on four hits through seven innings against the Braves earlier this year and his ERA was over a run lower at home than on the road. There is some potential here.

Charlie Morton - ATL at LAD ($8,100)

The Braves elected to yank Morton early on short rest after he gave up two runs in 3.1 innings against the Brewers in Game 4. On full rest against Milwaukee in Game 1, Morton pitched a gem worth 24.5 DraftKings points. That may very well be the ceiling with this group of pitchers tonight. Morton only gave up seven hits and three earned runs against the Dodgers over 11 innings this year. The 13 strikeouts shows what makes his ceiling a bit higher than the rest.

Other Options: Nick Pivetta ($7,400), Zack Greinke ($6,700)

DraftKings DFS Infielders

Travis d'Arnaud - C, ATL at LAD ($2,900)

We all know catcher is the weak link for DFS lineups in the playoffs. Tonight it could actually be a strength. d'Arnaud has four hits in eight tries in his career against Walker Buehler. He only has one RBI to show for it, but I'll take a crooked number over an oval one from my catcher any day of the playoffs.

Kyle Schwarber - 1B, BOS vs. HOU ($5,000)

Once again, I like Freddie Freeman here, and if you need the extra $800, he has homered twice off of Walker Buehler in his career. I'm sticking with Schwarber though. He had five hits in the Rays series and has one hit in all three games of this series, including last night's grand slam. Boston has scored 25 runs in three games so far against Houston and they have an excellent chance of putting up big numbers against Greinke tonight as well.

Enrique Hernandez - 2B/OF, BOS vs. HOU ($5,100)

Surprisingly, Kike only has 13 career at bats against Zack Greinke with three hits off of him. I guess it makes some sense. Kike was the lefty masher before this season. Now he is in the lineup against everyone. Two of those three hits against Greinke have left the yard and he has six RBI. I'll take that!

Rafael Devers - 3B, BOS vs. HOU ($5,400)

Devers continued his tear last night with another homer – his fourth of the postseason already – and a single. He has at least one hit in every postseason game so far with those four homers, 11 RBI, and 12 runs scored. Fade at your own risk.

Carlos Correa - SS, HOU at BOS ($4,100)

Correa isn't as hot as some of the guys on the other side, but he already has four hits in this series after recording five against the White Sox. Overall, Correa his hitting .371 with three homers in October. He's a reasonable way to get exposure to the Houston offense if you think Pivetta struggles.

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

Mookie Betts - OF, LAD vs. ATL ($4,900)

Mookie is hitting .387 wtih a homer, four RBI, four runs scored, and four steals so far in the 2021 playoffs. He didn't fare that well during the Braves during the regular season, but Mookie just always seems to hit better in the playoffs. He hit two homers and stole six bases in the 2020 playoffs. This is the time of the year to use Mookie. It doesn't hurt that he is a career .300 hitter against Charlie Morton with a homer, six runs, two steals, and two RBI in 3o at-bats.

J.D. Martinez - OF, BOS vs. HOU ($4,700)

Zack Greinke is a shell of his former self right now. J.D. hit the former Greinke pretty well, so I definitely want to use him against this version. Martinez is 5-for-19 with two homers and four RBI in his career against Grienke. Considering how bad Greinke was against Boston earlier this season, it makes sense to chase after him here in the playoffs too. I'm starting with Martinez.

Joc Pederson - OF, ATL at LAD ($2,900)

Joc hit his way back into the lineup against the Brewers and hasn't really cooled down yet. He has a homer and a pair of RBI so far against the Dodgers. Now he returns to his old stomping grounds of Dodger Stadium where he hit two of his three homers of the 2017 World Series. Pederson has always hit better in the playoffs than the regular season and this year has been no different. I'll gamble on him making a triumphant return to L.A. in the postseason.
