College Fantasy Football DFS Rankings: Week 5

Brad's CFB DFS rankings for Week on 10/2/21. His daily fantasy college football rankings for QBs, RBs and WRs and the DFS slates on DraftKings and FanDuel.

After a week where a few of the powerhouses in college football were not on the main slate, this week is chock full of top end plays.

The game that will be everyone’s focus will be Alabama vs Ole Miss, a game you will almost assuredly need some part of. The total currently sits at 78 points, meaning both teams should have plenty of value. Also, with big names such as Texas, Ohio State, Oklahoma and USC on the slate, there are plenty of known quantities.

One underrated DFS game to keep an eye on will be Louisville and Wake Forest, who are both capable of huge fantasy point games. Also, it may be wise to take a few games out of your pool as games like Wisconsin vs Michigan and Arkansas vs Georgia may not be the track meets that a few of these other games are.

CFB DFS Quarterback Rankings

QB GPP Rankings  Per $ Cash Rankings  Per $
1 Bryce Young 1 Bryce Young
2 Matt Corral 2 Matt Corral
3 Malik Cunningham 3 Casey Thompson
4 Sam Hartman 4 Desmond Ridder
5 Tanner McKee 5 Sam Hartman
6 Spencer Rattler 6 Connor Bazelak
7 Casey Thompson 7 Malik Cunningham
8 Desmond Ridder 8 Max Duggan
9 Max Duggan 9 Spencer Rattler
10 Connor Bazelak 10 Anthony Brown
11 Kedon Slovis 11 Tanner McKee
12 Hendon Hooker 12 C.J. Stroud
13 Jaren Lewis 13 Henry Colombi
14 Anthony Brown 14 Kedon Slovis
15 C.J. Stroud 15 Hendon Hooker

It is going to be hard to ignore Bryce Young and Matt Corral up top, despite their prices. Again, this game has a massive total, these two are the current Heisman frontrunners and both want to put up massive numbers. Being a 17 point favorite means Young is the safer option, but Corral possess a huge upside and may be under-valued in this spot.

There are other good options on this slate, but none that feature the upside of Young or Corral. Cunningham and Hartman could be in a duel themselves and make for an interesting game stack, while Thompson and McKee both have found form as now entrenched starters. One long shot is Kedon Slovis, who has yet to post big yardage numbers this year, but he did throw 49 passes last week, and if things click could be in for a nice day.

CFB DFS Running Back Rankings

RB GPP Rankings  Per $ RB Cash Rankings  Per $
1 TreVeyon Henderson 1 Bijan Robinson
2 Tyler Badie 2 Tyler Badie
3 Bijan Robinson 3 Duece Vaughn
4 Keontay Ingram 4 Leddie Brown
5 Zach Evans 5 Keontay Ingram
6 CJ Verdell 6 TreVeyon Henderson
7 Duece Vaughn 7 Justice Ellison
8 Kyren Williams 8 Zach Evans
9 SaRodorick Thompson 9 CJ Verdell
10 Jerome Ford 10 Jerome Ford
11 Blake Corum 11 Jase McClellan
12 Leddie Brown 12 Nathaniel Peat
13 Chez Mellusi 13 Kyren Williams
14 Tiyon Evans 14 SaRodorick Thompson
15 Isaih Pacheco 15 Blake Corum

This appears to the be the weakest of positions this week as there a few studs, but not much depth. Don’t be fooled but the low numbers last week for TreVeyon Henderson, they were simply limiting his workload in a blowout. Robinson, Badie and Vaughn are all rock solid options, but with a ton of other games and positions to target, they may not be the ideal targets.

There are a few running back rooms that will cause some confusion this week. Wake Forest continues to rotate backs, which means the cheaper Justice Ellison should be in play, while Michigan has been steamrolling teams on the ground, but faces a very good Wisconsin run defense. Meanwhile, Ingram at USC and Evans at TCU appear to have locked themselves into the RB1 role.

CFB DFS Wide Receiver Rankings

WR GPP Rankings  Per $ WR Cash Rankings  Per $
1 Jameson Williams 1 Drake London
2 Xavier Worthy 2 John Metchie III
3 Drake London 3 Jameson Williams
4 Treylon Burks 4 Garrett Wilson
5 John Metchie III 5 Xavier Worthy
6 Garrett Wilson 6 Kaylon Geiger Sr.
7 Chris Olave 7 Treylon Burks
8 Dontario Drummond 8 Michael Mayer
9 Jonathan Mingo 9 Jaquarii Roberson
10 Marvin Mims 10 Mario Williams
11 Bryce Ford-Wheaton 11 Alec Pierce
12 A.T. Perry 12 Dontario Drummond
13 Quentin Johnson 13 Chris Olave
14 Erik Ezukanma 14 Jonathan Mingo
15 Michael Mayer 15 Jadon Haselwood

This position is absolutely loaded this week, ranking just 15 players was tough! As mentioned, the Alabama/Ole Miss game should see a ton of fireworks, and with neither team having a bell cow running back, expect there receivers to do a ton of damage. Any one of the top options from those teams is firmly in play, in a game stack it is not out of the question to play three WR from this game alone.

Drake London is also a cash game monster with 23 receptions over the past two games. We have not even gotten to the Ohio State group, which is likely the most talented position group in the country. All of Olave, Wilson and Smith-Njigba are all firmly in play against Rutgers. Finally, there is a group of players that has not performed well this year, but have massive upside. Marvin Mims has seen his target share drop, but he is an elite talent. The same can be said for Bryce Ford-Wheaton, Jaquarii Roberson and Treylon Burks.

***There are reports out there than Jonathan Mingo is out with a broken foot. If he is out that does hurt Corrall's upside, but would make Braylon Sanders a near lock play at $4.8k.**
