College Fantasy Football DFS Rankings: Week 6

Brad's CFB DFS rankings for Week on 10/9/21. His daily fantasy college football rankings for QBs, RBs and WRs and the DFS slates on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Last week, the Alabama and Ole Miss game felt like a game that was going to shoot out, when it flopped it left a lot of dead lineups.  This week there is not that one game that you must play, but there are a ton of spots where an eruption could happen. This week feels like the week you will need to nail your quarterback spots, with plenty available up and down the price listing.

There will also be a few spots you can simply avoid as teams like Iowa and Wisconsin will try to take the air out of the ball and slow the game down. On the flip side, Ole Miss should be fired up after last weeks showing and we get an always fun Virginia team on the slate who has both a potent offense and an absolutely abysmal defense.

CFB DFS Quarterback Rankings

QB GPP Rankings  Per $ Cash Rankings  Per $
1 Garrett Schrader 1 Garrett Schrader
2 Malik Cunningham 2 Hendon Hooker
3 Matt Corrall 3 Sam Hartman
4 Brennan Armstrong 4 Matt Corrall
5 KJ Jefferson 5 Malik Cunningham
6 C.J. Stroud 6 Brennan Armstrong
7 Taulia Tagovailoa 7 C. J. Stroud
8 Casey Thompson 8 Payton Thorne
9 Spencer Rattler 9 Spencer Rattler
10 Sam Hartman 10 Hank Bachmeier
11 Hendon Hooker 11 KJ Jefferson
12 Hank Bachmeier 12 Gerry Bohanon
13 Gerry Bohanon 13 Spencer Petras
14 Payton Thorne 14 Luke Doty
15 Jaren Hall 15 Taulia Tagovailoa

Quarterback is a great position this week with a ton of options at all price points. Garrett Schrader finally got the nod for Syracuse, and has run with it posting over 90 fantasy points the last three games. His 41 rushing attempts give him an amazing floor and a massive ceiling at a bargain price. Much the same can be said for Hendon Hooker this week after a strong performance last week against Missouri.

After that you have Matt Corrall who should bounce back in a big way after the debacle against Alabama. Malik Cunningham and Brennan Armstrong should be a great QB match-up as both teams are the heart of everything they do on offense and both teams have putrid defenses. Meanwhile, the Red River Rivalry does not quite have the same firepower as previous years, but plenty of points should be scored and could be a low owned game stack.

CFB DFS Running Back Rankings

RB GPP Rankings  Per $ RB Cash Rankings  Per $
1 Chez Mellusi 1 Kenneth Walker III
2 Tiyon Evans 2 Bijan Robinson
3 TreVeyon Henderson 3 Sean Tucker
4 Bijan Robinson 4 Tiyon Evans
5 Kenneth Walker III 5 Tyler Goodson
6 Tyler Allgeier 6 Justice Ellison
7 Leddie Brown 7 Wayne Taulapapa
8 Kevin Harris 8 Henry Parrish Jr.
9 Abram Smith 9 Tyler Allgeier
10 Tyler Goodson 10 TreVeyon Henderson
11 Trelon Smith 11 Leddie Brown
12 Zamir White 12 Chez Mellusi
13 Tayon Fleet-Davis 13 Trelon Smith
14 Henry Parrish Jr. 14 Kevin Harris
15 Kennedy Brooks 15 Zamir White

Unlike quarterback, running back is a real wild-card position this week. Studs like Bijan Robinson, Kenneth Walker III and Sean Tucker should be locked into their roles, but you will also need to pay a hefty price for them. Others such as Tyler Goodson, Henry Parrish Jr. and Leddie Brown all have solid roles, but none possess massive upside for their prices.

Meanwhile, there are a few running backs who could pop off the page for their given prices, but also come with risk. Chez Mellusi was a workhorse to start the year for Wisconsin, but that has fallen off recently. With their QB dinged up, Mellusi should be able to get to big games, but it is a risk. TreVeyon Henderson is also a player who could swing a lineup, after a massive 24 carry game, two weeks ago, the freshman has just 16 combined carries over the past two games.

Also, do not play any running backs against Iowa or Wisconsin, they are simply too good on defense for any real upside in any format.

CFB DFS Wide Receiver Rankings

WR GPP Rankings  Per $ WR Cash Rankings  Per $
1 Dontario Drummond 1 Garrett Wilson
2 Garrett Wilson 2 Dontayvion Wicks
3 Jaquarii Roberson 3 Khalil Shakir
4 Treylon Burks 4 Dontario Drummond
5 Rakim Jarrett 5 Chris Olave
6 Gunner Romney 6 Jayden Reed
7 Jadon Jackson 7 Jaquarii Roberson
8 Jordan Watkins 8 Gunner Romney
9 Dontayvion Wicks 9 A.T. Perry
10 Khalil Shakir 10 Xavier Worthy
11 Jayden Reed 11 Marshon Ford
12 Billy Kemp IV 12 Billy Kemp IV
13 Xavier Worthy 13 Jadon Jackson
14 Chris Olave 14 Treylon Burks
15 Braylon Sanders 15 Rakim Jarrett

Until Draftkings decides to price Garrett Wilson as a stud WR, I will continue to have him at the top of my lists, he is simply too talented for that price. With Jonathan Mingo still listed as out, there should be plenty of value to go around for the Ole Miss receivers, and do not be surprised if Lane Kiffin really lays it on Arkansas.

Some low priced options such as Jadon Jackson and Jordan Watkins do not have the safest floors, but get excellent match-ups and could bring massive upside for their prices. Finally, the Oklahoma WR are just too tough to predict, eventually Marvin Mims is going to have a massive game, but until that happens, they are all too hard to trust.

As noted above, do not play Penn State WR this week, Iowa’s defense is no joke!
