College Fantasy Football DFS Rankings: Week 2

Brad's CFB DFS rankings for Week 2 on 9/11/21. His daily fantasy college football rankings for QBs, RBs and WRs and the DFS slates on DraftKings and FanDuel.

With one week under our belts, many depth charts have come into focus and roles have been defined. The biggest thing to make sure when checking box scores is to not get too enamored with one big game or one awful outing. A player like Trea Shropshire had a massive week one, however he is taking a huge step up in competition facing a Georgia defense that held Clemson to just three points. As always, keep up on injury reports as they can drastically change the values of players.

CFB DFS Quarterback Rankings

QB GPP Rankings  Per $ Cash Rankings  Per $
1 Anthony Brown 1 C.J. Stroud
2 Joe Milton III 2 Spencer Sanders
3 C.J. Stroud 3 Anthony Brown
4 Max Duggan 4 Jack Coan
5 Haynes King 5 Kenny Pickett
6 Emory Jones 6 Max Duggan
7 Spencer Sanders 7 Haynes King
8 Jack Coan 8 Joe Milton III
9 Tommy DeVito 9 Emory Jones
10 Kenny Pickett 10 Sean Clifford
11 Holton Ahlers 11 Holton Ahlers
12 Noah Vedral 12 Brock Purdy
13 Carter Bradley 13 Noah Vedral
14 Drew Plitt 14 Tommy DeVito
15 Sean Clifford 15 Carter Bradley

The quarterback is going to be a bit more uneven than normal this week. Emory Jones is the prime example of this as he struggled in week one, but sees a significantly better match-up in week two against USF. Be sure to keep up on the news of Jones and backup Anthony Richardson’s status going into this week.

Anthony Brown was not incredible in week one, but is simply too cheap and should be one of the top owned plays on the slate for Oregon. Finally, Jack Coan looked the part of a top end quarterback in week one, but the issue in GPP’s is that he may simply not see as many opportunities if Notre Dame runs past Toledo.

CFB DFS Running Back Rankings

RB GPP Rankings  Per $ RB Cash Rankings  Per $
1 Kyren Williams 1 Sean Tucker
2 Devon Achane 2 Kyren Williams
3 Miyan Williams 3 Jabari Small
4 Sean Tucker 4 Kevin Harris
5 Kevin Harris 5 Dameon Pierce
6 Zamir White 6 Devon Achane
7 CJ Verdell 7 Zamir White
8 Jabari Small 8 Breece Hall
9 Jarek Broussard 9 Noah Cain
10 Bryant Koback 10 CJ Verdell
11 Noah Cain 11 LD Brown
12 Dameon Pierce 12 Tyler Goodson
13 Isaih Pacheco 13 Miyan Williams
14 TreVeyon Henderson 14 Jarek Broussard
15 Tiyon Evans 15 Deneric Prince

As mentioned above, Notre Dame should handle Toledo this weekend as they currently sit at 19.5 point favorites. That should mean a massive work load for Kyren Williams, making him the top play on the slate, even at his price. After Williams, there is a bit of a mess as many teams are working in multiple running backs. Ohio State (Williams/Henderson/Teague), Texas A&M (Achane/Spiller) and Tennessee (Small/Evans) are the main ones to focus on here. All three should score plenty of points, but the issue is trying to figure out how the carries are split. All will be a risk, but could pay off in a huge way.

On the other end, Tyler Goodson and Breece Hall are locked into nice roles, but Iowa and Iowa State should be a tight, low scoring game with the total currently at 48.5. Other options like Bryant Koback or Isaih Pacheco might not have great game scripts, but should receive the bulk of the work.

CFB DFS Wide Receiver Rankings

WR GPP Rankings  Per $ WR Cash Rankings  Per $
1 Garret Wilson 1 Garrett Wilson
2 Ainias Smith 2 Jahan Dotson
3 Tay Martin 3 Chris Olave
4 Bo Melton 4 Tay Martin
5 Michael Mayer 5 Jordan Addison
6 KeAndre Lambert-Smith 6 Michael Mayer
7 Jahan Dotson 7 Bo Melton
8 Justin Hall 8 Johnny Johnson III
9 Johnny Johnson III 9 Ainias Smith
10 Kevin Austin Jr. 10 Justin Hall
11 Nikko Remigio 11 Kevin Austin Jr.
12 Taj Harris 12 KeAndre Lambert-Smith
13 Trea Shropshire 13 Xavier Hutchinson
14 Devon Maddox 14 Jalen Wydermyer
15 Quentin Johnson 15 Rick Wells

This position seems a bit more straight forward than most weeks. Garrett Wilson is simply underpriced for his talent level. Chris Olave had the two big plays last week, but Wilson is potentially a top 10 pick, and plays an Oregon team that should keep it close.

Also keep an eye on high total games such as Ball State vs Penn State (58.5), Toledo vs Notre Dame (56.5) and South Carolina vs ECU (61.5). Those games may not all seem like spots to target pass catchers, but with high totals, there should be plenty of wide receiver value available.
