Three top fantasy baseball prospects - Thomas White, A.J. Ewing, Bryce Eldridge - that can make big impacts. These MLB prospects are waiver wire pickups or stashes.
Finding high-upside prospects on the waiver wire can not only provide your fantasy team with a higher ceiling, but also save your FAAB budget throughout the lengthy season. So far, managers have already seen many top prospects earn the call, such as Noah Schultz and Payton Tolle, and those who stash them as a result of their call-up likely saved much of their FAAB budget.
In this piece, we will look at three prospects who are on the verge of returning to the major leagues, including one who just earned the call over the weekend.
Should fantasy managers stash these high-end prospects? Let's dive in!

While White's path to the majors is not overly clear, he enters the week as a priority stash option, especially for those in deeper formats with N/A spots due to his upside alone. White was in the running to break camp with the MLB roster, like Snelling, but was unable to compete after sustaining an oblique injury early in camp.
However, following a rehab assignment, White has since returned to Tripel-A Jacksonville, where he has been as dominant as his teammates, Garrett and Snelling. Through two outings with the Jumbo Shrimp, the southpaw has posted a 1.13 ERA, 0.75WHIP, and a 14:3 K:BB. Even though White's track record in the upper minor leagues is not as long as Snelling's, White takes the cake as a pure prospect.
The former 35th overall pick entered the 2026 regular season as the team's No. 1-ranked prospect on MLB.com and the overall No. 11 in the sport.
In 2025, White began the campaign with High-A and held a strong 2.83 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, with a 53:17 K:BB. He was then bumped up to Double-A, where he needed just 10 starts before moving up to Triple-A. In these 10 outings (45 1/3 innings), White posted an elite 1.59 ERA, 11.9 WHIP, with 75 punchouts.
He concluded the campaign with Triple-A, where he allowed four earned runs (five runs) over 9 1/3 innings with a modest 17:10 K:BB. Seeing White not only show higher strikeout upside in his second stint, but also drastically lower his walk rate, suggests he is putting the final touches on his development.
While White will likely have to wait until Snelling and Garrett return to Miami, his upside on a pure "start-by-start" basis is much higher than both. If looking for a "Nick Kurtz" outcome from any rookie on this list, White should be the priority stash target.

A.J. Ewing, SS, New York Mets
Current Level: AAA
Availability: 5% rostered
2026 MiLB Stats: 24 G, .388/.500/.588, 2 HR, 16 SB
A.J. Ewing entered 2026 known for his blazing speed and plus-hit tool after slashing .315/.401/.429 with three homers, 55 RBI, 87 runs, and 70 stolen bases in 120 games in the minor leagues last season. The good batting average and outlier speed are already skills that are valuable for fantasy, and he could potentially become a five-category contributor if he's able to unlock more raw power.
At least so far in 2026, that looks like it could be the case. He absolutely dominated Double-A, to the tune of a .349/.481/.571 slash line with two homers and 12 steals in 18-games, earning him a promotion to Triple-A on April 28. The 21-year-old wasted no time making an impact at his new level, going 3-for-4 with a double and a triple in his first game.
"We see it all right there: contact, power speed. That's the A.J. Ewing Experience."

He picked up two hits in each of his next two games and even added another stolen base for good measure. The youngster is on fire and could push for a much quicker major league promotion than anyone expected if he keeps this up. The main problem is the Mets aren't exactly starving for new talent at the major league level, although Luis Robert did just land on the injured list on Thursday.
That's not to say they would immediately promote Ewing to fill the spot, as it's going to take more than three games at Triple-A to force a promotion. However, this is a player who's worth keeping an eye on for a call-up down the line.
He'd be a must-add in any roto fantasy league as an on-base machine who could instantly become one of the most prolific base stealers in the majors. Don't expect extreme power, but double-digit homers aren't out of the question, which would give him a great leg up on players such as Xavier Edwards and Chandler Simpson, who have similar profiles without the power.

Bryce Eldridge, 1B, San Francisco Giants

2026 AAA Stats: 30 G, .333/.445/.518, 5 HR, 41 SO, 20 BB

The Giants are struggling on offense, so they desperately need a boost, which Eldridge can definitely provide.
The young slugger is currently slashing .327/.426/.529 with five home runs in 122 plate appearances. While strikeouts remain an issue, at least he's got his rate below 30%. Eldridge also makes up for his whiff-heavy tendencies with a good eye at the plate, as highlighted by his 12.3% walk rate.
While Casey Schmitt has been surprisingly good at the plate this year, both Rafael Devers and Willy Adames are struggling. Perhaps the Giants can deploy Schmitt as a super-infielder to make room for Eldridge. They have to act sooner rather than later because they need some power on offense.
The Giants announced they would be promoting Eldridge ahead of Monday, which makes him a priority add in all formats, given his high-end raw power. While he may not play every day at the start of his stint, he could push for a 20-HR campaign.
