Should I start or sit DJ Moore for fantasy football in Week 14? Read our fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks and fantasy lineup recommendations.
Chicago Bears wide receiver DJ Moore has had a very rocky season in the NFL in 2025. Fantasy managers who drafted him around his ADP, between the fourth and sixth rounds, have likely struggled with the decision to start him or leave him on the bench every week.
And it would be hard to blame anyone who's left him on the bench all year. He's just the WR37 in fantasy leagues with normal PPR scoring rules. He has had far more duds than he's had big games, and if you put him in your lineup after one of his more productive days, you were burned for it.
But things change over the course of the NFL season, and one of the clearest paths to better production for any player is for another good player at their position on the same team to get injured. That's happened, so will it lead to Moore being startable? Let's dive in.

DJ Moore Fantasy Football Outlook
The aforementioned injury was to Bears WR Rome Odunze (foot). He's dealing with a stress fracture in his foot. Those can take weeks to heal, and he's already been ruled out for Week 14. It will now be Moore, wide receiver Luther Burden III, tight end Colston Loveland, and slot receiver Olamide Zaccheaus that will be the primary passing game targets.
Unfortunately, Bears QB Caleb Williams is one of the least efficient, least accurate, and lowest-volume quarterbacks in the league. He has yet to throw for 300 or more passing yards in a game, which restricts the upside of everyone he throws to.

And there's a big reason why Moore hasn't gotten the ball more. Bears head coach Ben Johnson has publicly called out his effort on numerous occasions, though he didn't always name names. But Moore's lack of effort has been apparent on film for more than one full season now.
That's probably a big reason why he doesn't get the ball more. But his competition, now, is a slot receiver that isn't particularly good and two rookies. We might see those rookies used more going forward, but they'll probably not be fully worked into the offense until 2026.

Of course, by virtue of simply being in a good offense, being a good athlete, and sometimes playing at maximum effort, he gets opportunities to put up points. They're just few and far between. Still, he should have a higher floor moving forward, and is technically the No. 1 receiver for Chicago now.
Should I Start DJ Moore in Week 14?
It depends. If you're in a 10-team league, keep in mind this is crunch time, and in smaller leagues, you desperately need players with the most upside to put in your starting lineups. Depending on who's on your roster, if you're a competitive team, you probably have better options.
If you're in a league with 12 or more teams, though, the talent pool is more diluted, and he's probably worth starting in your flex spot. Players that can get 20 or more PPR fantasy points and are set for an increase in volume are good enough, because a lot of teams don't even have two great starting WRs.

A lot of his upside is also nerfed by Williams' accuracy issues. The Bears have a good record in spite of him. Despite Johnson constantly scheming his receivers wide open, Williams often doesn't throw the ball, and when he does, is very prone to bad, bad misses.
The highlight-reel plays seem to make up for it in peoples' minds, or at least the minds of people who don't have any Bears pass-catchers in fantasy. This isn't a problem that will be fixed, but it doesn't mean he's unstartable. It just means that you should probably bench him unless you're in deeper leagues.
Starting him in a 12-team PPR league is fine.
