Time to Drop Jacory Croskey-Merritt? Fantasy Football Week 10 Waiver Wire Outlook (2025)

Jacory Croskey-Merritt - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL DFS Picks

Should I drop Jacory Croskey-Merritt for fantasy football Week 10? Is Jacory Croskey-Merritt a safe player to cut? Read the fantasy football waivers outlook.

One of the fastest late-summer risers in fantasy football was Washington Commanders rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt.

Croskey-Merritt was a camp sensation as a 2025 seventh-round pick, consistently forcing missed tackles and wowing spectators with his one-cut rushing style. He quickly climbed the depth chart and made it clear he would have a role in a talented offense. Unfortunately, he has struggled to consistently live up to his preseason optimism this season.

Should fantasy managers drop Jacory Croskey-Merritt in fantasy football? Is there anybody better to pick up? Read below to find out.

Should I Drop Jacory Croskey-Merritt in Fantasy Football?

Things could not have started better for Jacory Croskey-Merritt in fantasy football to start the season. Once the 2025 seventh-round pick had a good camp, the Washington Commanders cleared the runway for the rookie to have a role by trading away veteran Brian Robinson Jr.

Croskey-Merritt’s outlook improved even more when veteran running back Austin Ekeler, his primary competition for touches in the backfield, went down with a season-ending injury during Week 2.

Unfortunately, the rookie has struggled to be a consistent fantasy producer.

Things haven’t been all bad for Croskey-Merritt. Since Week 5, the seventh-round pick is averaging 13.0 carries per game on a 53.1% snap share. Statistically, he’s been impressive as well, posting 65 carries for 268 yards and two touchdowns (4.1 yards per carry) during that five-game stretch.

There have been some highlights for him during that time as well. Croskey-Merritt has a 53.1% rushing success rate since Week 5. He is also averaging 2.6 yards after contact per attempt (RB9) with 21% of his runs coming on explosive plays.

Unfortunately, the Commanders as a team have regressed in 2025 largely thanks to a series of injuries to quarterback Jayden Daniels. Croskey-Merritt is a non-factor as a pass catcher (12 targets in nine games) and has lost valuable snaps in negative game scripts to other running backs. His fantasy production is almost completely tied to his ability to put up volume and find the end zone.

Things won’t get much easier with Jayden Daniels expected to miss the foreseeable future after dislocating his elbow. The Commanders will remain in negative game scripts, which will continue to limit the rookie’s upside.

Croskey-Merritt is a player who will have usable weeks when the Washington Commanders can get into positive game scripts. However, he is unusable in fantasy if the team is trailing. That has led him to be the RB42 in PPR points per game (8.7). It is fair to drop him on the waiver wire to find a more reliable option at this point in the season.

Who Should I Pick Up for Fantasy Football?

Unfortunately, injuries and bye weeks have thinned out the waiver wire options in fantasy football. Below are some options that are rostered at 50% or lower on Yahoo fantasy.

Managers who can be patient for a week can grab Tennessee Titans running back Tyjae Spears (44% rostered), who is on bye in Week 10. Spears has at least five carries and four targets in four straight games. He has two double-digit fantasy performances during that stretch.

New York Jets’ running back Isaiah Davis (13%) saw his biggest workload of the season in Week 8, scoring 17.9 PPR points with both rushing (seven carries for 65 yards) and receiving (5 receptions for 44 yards) production against the Cincinnati Bengals. He is still the clear backup to Breece Hall, but will continue to see a role as a pass catcher on a Jets team that will certainly live in negative game scripts after trading away some of their most talented defensive players.

Finally, New York Giants’ running back Devin Singletary (5%) handled eight carries for 43 yards and added two receptions for eight yards in the team’s first game without Cam Skattebo. Singletary will have an early down role and get a matchup against a struggling Bears’ run defense in Week 10.
